Sources: Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey to be sidelined up to 6 weeks by thigh injury

Aaron Ramsey's latest muscle injury may keep him out for as long as six weeks, Arsenal sources told ESPN FC.

Although Arsene Wenger initially said the absence would be no more than three to four weeks, that appraisal is said to be on the optimistic side.

The club's injury record has come under huge scrutiny over the past week, as the midfielder's thigh injury in the 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur last Saturday brought their list of absences to nine. The Welsh international doesn't look like alleviating that any time soon.

It has also been noted by relevant figures around the club that Ramsey's injury was his left thigh, physically close to the left hamstring problem that kept him out for up to three months last season.
