Sergio Aguero and David Silva set to return for Manchester City vs. Hull

MANCHESTER -- Sergio Aguero and David Silva have been passed fit to return to the Manchester City side against Hull City on Saturday.

Both players missed the Premier League champions' 7-0 Capital One Cup thrashing of Sheffield Wednesday on Wednesday. However, they are now available to Manuel Pellegrini again, along with right-back Pablo Zabaleta, who has served a one-match ban.

But City are still without the injured trio of Samir Nasri, Stevan Jovetic and Fernando, with Jovetic and Fernando possibly in line to return against Aston Villa next weekend.

Aguero had taken a kick to his knee and Silva had a minor ankle problem but Pellegrini told a news conference: "Sergio and David are both OK, yes. We continue with Jovetic and Fernando out of the team. I think both of them will be ready next week and Samir Nasri also has a groin problem."

Jovetic and Fernando have both missed City's last four games with hamstring and groin injuries respectively.

Joe Hart and Vincent Kompany, meanwhile, were both rested for Wednesday's game and are likely to return to the starting lineup for the Hull clash.

City ended a run of four games without a win against Championship side Wednesday, and Pellegrini added: "I think it was a very useful match for our team. We were not scoring too many goals here at home. In the last four games, we didn't win our games.

"We were not playing badly but we did not win so it was important to win in the way we did on Wednesday and I hope this can continue in the future, especially against Hull because in the Premier League we cannot drop more points."

City won 2-0 at the KC Stadium last season but were made to work hard by Hull, and Pellegrini is anticipating another awkward game.

"Hull is a difficult team playing well," he added. "Last year maybe if it was not our best game, it was one of our best games. Vincent Kompany was sent off in the first 10 minutes [but] we played really well and won.

"I hope this year we can do it in the same way but I am sure we are going to find a very tough team in their home because they always play very strong, especially in aerial duels."
