Real Madrid star striker Cristiano Ronaldo hit 30 million followers on Twitter, solidifying his spot as the most-followed athlete on the social medium and making him the 13th most followed person overall behind the likes of singers Katy Perry, Taylor Swift and Rihanna and U.S. President Barack Obama.

The Portuguese forward scored four goals as Real Madrid eased to a 5-1 win over Elche in La Liga on Tuesday only three days after netting his 24th hat-trick for the club in their 8-2 victory over Deportivo La Coruna.

He is now one hat trick shy of tying the league record and has moved into the top 10 list on the all-time La Liga scorers list with 186 goals. He is the only player in the top 10 with a goal/game average over 1.0 and is also on pace to shatter the record for fewest games played to reach 200 La Liga goals.

Ronaldo leads all athletes, his next closest rival is MLS Orlando City's (on loan to Sao Paolo) midfielder Kaka with 20.9 million followers, with LeBron James next in line (14.8 million) and Neymar (14.4M) and Ronaldinho (10.7M) rounding out the top five.
