Roma president James Pallotta says he is sick of the rumours linking Kevin Strootman with a move to Manchester United, telling the UK newspapers to stop "wasting paper."
There were further reports in the British press on Monday that the Red Devils were planning a move for the Dutchman, who has been out injured since March. The 24-year-old may not play again this year with a return to training pencilled in for the end of November, but Pallotta has no doubt he will pull on a Roma shirt again.
A move to the Premier League is and always has been out of the question, Pallotta wrote in three tweets from the Serie A club.

#Pallotta: "Kevin Strootman is not for sale and has never ever been discussed in that vein at Roma. They are wasting paper"

#Pallotta: "We consider Kevin an integral highly valued partner in our long term plans"

Strootman made 29 appearances for Roma in his debut season since arriving from PSV Eindhoven, up until he picked up an injury in the clash with Napoli.
He scored six goals and was regarded as a key figure in the club's challenge of Juventus at the top of the table, and eventual return to the Champions League.
