Laurent Blanc's job is safe, says PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has insisted Laurent Blanc's job is not in jeopardy despite the French champions' slow start to the season.

Blanc saw Lyon equalise six minutes from time at the Parc des Princes on Sunday to condemn PSG to a third successive draw in all competitions and leave them three points behind Ligue 1 leaders Marseille.

After the 1-1 draw in the French capital, Al Khelaifi told reporters that Blanc, who signed a contract extension through to 2016 in May, would be keeping his job.

"He's not in danger. He'll be here with us until the end of the season," he said. "It's not up to PSG's usual standard, we have to work more every day, but I'm confident."

The draw with Lyon was the third successive match in which PSG had opened the scoring only to be pegged back.

"If I could explain it, I would explain it to my players. It's a phenomenon that we've only recently experienced," Blanc is quoted as saying by RMC.

"We were fortunate enough to open the scoring [in matches] last season, but also to score a second goal that put us out of reach.

"Now, we have to acknowledge that we have very few goalscoring chances despite quite significant amounts of possession."

Blanc's side next face a potentially tricky Ligue 1 trip to Caen on Wednesday.
