Arsenal right-back Mathieu Debuchy has revealed he may need surgery on a "broken" ankle ligament.

Debuchy, 29, collapsed to the ground unopposed late on during Arsenal's 2-2 draw with Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium last Saturday and was eventually stretchered off.
There were fears he could be out for three months and a fractured foot was a possibility. Debuchy, who took to Facebook to clarify the extent of the damage, is likely to face a lengthy spell on the sidelines if he requires an operation.
He wrote: "No fracture but one broken ligament ... I have to wait until Friday in order to know if I must have surgery."

Arsene Wenger is facing mounting problems in defence with 19-year-old Hector Bellerin forced to cover at right-back during Arsenal's 2-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Jack Wilshere believes he will be fit for Saturday's trip to Aston Villa after tests revealed he had not done any serious damage when he twisted his ankle against Dortmund.
Wilshere has a history of ankle problems, having missed 17 months after injuring the same joint in 2011, which Wenger admitted made him feel "cautious" following the incident.
However, despite missing training on Wednesday, Wilshere insisted he was "fine."
