Mauro Icardi scored a hat trick as Inter Milan demolished 10-man Sassuolo, beating them 7-0 for the second time in the space of 12 months. - Roma and Juve maintain 100% records

The Argentine striker put the hosts ahead in the fourth minute, Mateo Kovacic doubled Inter's lead in the 21st minute and Icardi struck again on the half-hour mark. Pablo Daniel Osvaldo made it 4-0 before the interval and Icardi added his third early in the second half. Sassuolo striker Domenico Berardi was shown a straight red card in the 59th minute and Osvaldo scored his second in the 72nd minute before substitute Fredy Guarin rounded off a wonderful afternoon for Inter two minutes later. AC Milan edged a nine-goal thriller with Parma at the Stadio Tardini to join Juventus and Roma at the top of the table. Jeremy Menez was on target twice, once from the penalty spot, in a game which saw both sides end the game with 10 men, Daniele Bonera and Felipe both receiving their marching orders. Milan were never behind, but Parma refused to lie down with Antonio Cassano equalising Giacomo Bonaventura's opener and Felipe bringing them back into the game after Keisuke Honda and Menez had given the Rossoneri a cushion. Nigel De Jong restored Milan's two-goal advantage, but Alessandro Lucarelli replied before Menez thought he had put the result beyond doubt. An extraordinary own goal from Mattia De Sciglio gave Parma hope, but they were unable to find an equaliser to round off one of the most spectacular games in Serie A in years. Maxi Lopez scored the only goal of the game as Chievo upset Napoli 1-0 at the Stadio San Paolo to pick up their first points of the new season. Chievo were two minutes away from winning last season's corresponding fixture 1-0 only to concede a late equaliser to Raul Albiol, but they would not be denied this time as Eugenio Corini's men held on to Lopez's 49th-minute strike. That came after Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain had missed a first-half penalty for the hosts, whose stuttering start to the season continued. Lazio claimed their first win of the new season as they cruised to a 3-0 victory over Cesena. The hosts released all of their frustration at losing their league opener at AC Milan on a Cesena side that failed to even manage a single shot on goal throughout the clash at the Stadio Olimpico. Antonio Candreva celebrated his 300th league appearance in style by scoring his team's opener in the 19th minute, before setting Marco Parolo up for Lazio's second. Substitute Stefano Mauri made it 3-0 with seconds remaining. Sampdoria picked up their first win of the new season with a 2-0 victory over Torino at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris. Manolo Gabbiadini put Samp in front with a direct free-kick in the 34th minute and former Fulham forward Stefano Okaka sealed victory 10 minutes from time with an outstanding individual effort. Atalanta fended off a late Cagliari comeback to record their first victory of the season in Sardinia. Marcelo Estigarribia and Richmond Boakye had given the Bergamaschi a 2-0 lead after 67 minutes played at the Sant'Elia stadium. But when Andrea Cossu clawed one back for the hosts from the penalty spot with four minutes remaining, it set up a frantic finish, with Cagliari surging forward in search of an equaliser. Fiorentina could not find a way past visiting goalkeeper Mattia Perin as they were held to a goalless draw by 10-man Genoa. The Viola dominated the encounter at the Artemio Franchi stadium and created plenty of goalscoring chances but were denied by a series of fine saves from Perin. Genoa will be pleased with the result as they were forced to play with a man less from the 72nd minute after defender Facundo Roncaglia was sent off after picking up two yellow cards.
