Mark Hughes: Stoke must learn to take chances after frustrating Leicester loss

Stoke manager Mark Hughes was left frustrated by his side's inability to make a breakthrough against Leicester as the visitors left the Britannia with all three points in a 1-0 victory on Saturday.

Leonardo Ulloa's goal 26 minutes from time secured a dogged victory for the Foxes, and Hughes -- whose side stunned Manchester City with a 1-0 victory at the Etihad in their last match but have yet to pick up a point or score a league goal on their own turf -- says his side need to learn to take their chances.

"We are disappointed with the result, but in terms of our performance level I thought we did okay to be honest," Hughes told the club's official website. "You know that at some point in 90 minutes of football the opposition will fashion one chance, and when those opportunities arise you have to defend them properly.

"Unfortunately for us we weren't able to do that and they managed to capitalise on that. There was only one team who were looking to win the game and play positively though, and throughout the first-half especially, I thought we produced some really good stuff.

"The key, as is always the case though, is getting that first goal, and at the moment we aren't maybe having that little bit of luck needed to get ourselves into a winning position.

"There were a number of times today where the ball was bouncing around in the box and not once did it really fall for us, so that is frustrating.

"We did everything we could to break them down, but credit to Leicester because they were incredibly resolute and they made it very difficult for us.

"We did a similar thing at Manchester City and got a positive result, and everyone's patting us on the back. So we can't moan and groan about it because it's good play.''

The defeat leaves Stoke 12th in the Premier League with four points from four games.
