Hannover have hit out at Pedro Leon for making public their summer bid for the Getafe midfielder on Twitter. Leon, 27, was not registered by Getafe for the current La Liga season due to financial reasons. The former Real Madrid player's salary would have taken the club's 17 million-euro budget over the limit of Liga de Futbol Profesional's (LFP) newly-introduced regulation. Getafe had tried to sell the player to one of Sevilla, West Ham or Hannover in the summer, but a deal could not be agreed. All three clubs offered too little money, while Leon refused to take a pay cut. The midfielder will reportedly take a case against both the club and the LFP to court, and hopes to secure a free transfer. "Pedro cannot play until December, or for another year, it is up to him," Getafe president Angel Torres told AS. "He had the chance to fix it [by leaving] and if it has not been sorted out nobody is to blame." On Wednesday, Leon retweeted AS' post that revealed one of the offers Getafe received for the player during the summer. In a letter addressed to Torres, Hannover voiced their interest in signing Leon for one million euros. "Hannover would like to buy the player for an amount of one million euros," the document read. "In case Hannover 96 permanently transfers the player to a third club with effect between July 23, 2013 and June 30, 2017, FC Getafe receives 25 percent of the net transfer amount that exceeds one million euros." Hannover sporting director Dirk Dufner told Bild: "That's authentic. Pedro was one of five or six alternatives for the right of our midfield." Dufner added that he considered Leon's actions to be "bad conduct." Hannover president Martin Kind, meanwhile, said: "I've never experienced anything like this. We are the victims here, we were betrayed. There are no rules in football anymore."
