Paco Alcacer pleased by Valencia interest in contract renewal

Paco Alcacer, who scored on his first senior start in Spain's 5-1 win over Macedonia on Monday, said he is pleased that Valencia have shown interest in renewing his contract.

"I would like to be here for many years," said Alcacer, who got the call-up with Diego Costa out injured. "I know what I want and that is to remain at Valencia for many years. I want to thank them for all the love they show me. We would like to see it [the contract] resolved quickly but right now the important thing is the match vs. Espanyol.

"If I didn't feel valued, I wouldn't be happy here. They have placed a lot of trust in me but this goes by numbers and I have to improve those."

Spain boss Vicente Del Bosque has praised the work of Alcacer.

"He has met all of our expectations," Del Bosque said. "He moves well, he scored a goal and he has played in both matches. We are going to follow his development closely at Valencia."

Alcacer also voiced his support for his Spain and now Valencia teammate Alvaro Negredo.

"We already know what kind of a player he is," Alcacer said. "Both on the national team and with Manchester City he has shown himself to be an excellent forward. We have a forward to be happy with and who can do great things this year."

About the presence at Valencia of forwards Negredo and Rodrigo Moreno, on loan from Manchester City and Benfica respectivaly, Alcacer said he did not fear the competition.

"Why not? We are three different kinds of forwards," Alcacer added. "We can work well together, although that is up to the manager. If he trusts all three of us, that is great and if he trusts the other two that aren't me, well, I will support as much as I can."

Alcacer said he sees a future for other Valencia players on the national team.

"Valencia is top level and why couldn't there be more players?" Alcacer said. "For my part, I will have to go at 100 percent with Valencia to get called up again."
