Juventus enquired about PSG's Thiago Motta - agent

Thiago Motta's agent has revealed Juventus were keen to bring the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder back to Italy this summer.

- Rzouki: Why did Juventus sell Simone Zaza?
- Johnson: What will PSG do with Adrien Rabiot?

Though injury blighted his first full season in France, Motta, 32, underpinned PSG's second successive Ligue 1 title triumph as the man stationed in front of the back four in Laurent Blanc's 4-3-3 formation.

The Italy international, who joined PSG from Inter Milan in January 2012, has frequently been linked with a return to Serie A.

However, though his representative, Alessandro Canovi, told FC Inter News Juve had made an approach, Motta -- who extended his PSG contract by a year through to 2016 last February -- is staying put.

"We were in the process of extending his contract with PSG. There was never really any question of saying goodbye to Paris, because he likes it there. But I can tell you that the Juventus fans really like him. However, Juve aren't the only club that contacted me," Canovi declared.

"Thiago is a unique player. At that level, I don't see many players with his qualities. Verratti, who I think is an absolute phenomenon, resembles more [Luka] Modric, in my opinion. Thiago continues to be one of the best, and I'm sure he's going to receive a lot of offers."
