Andres Iniesta ruled out for Spain vs. France, Macedonia with knee injury

Andres Iniesta has been ruled out of Spain's upcoming matches against France and Macedonia through injury, the Spanish football federation (RFEF) has confirmed.

Iniesta, 30, is struggling with a knee problem that forced him to miss Barcelona's 1-0 win at Villarreal on Sunday and he will not be available to national team coach Vicente del Bosque.

Del Bosque has opted against calling up a replacement for the 30-year-old and will stick with the remaining 22 players in his named in his squad on Friday, the RFEF announced via the Spanish national team's official website on Monday.

The two-time reigning European champions play France in a friendly on Thursday before facing Macedonia in their opening Euro 2016 qualifier next Monday.
