Lukas Podolski linked with Serie A

Lukas Podolski could be set for a move to Italy with Napoli and Juventus both waiting for a signal from the Arsenal forward, whose agent says he is assessing offers.

Ali Pektas, the Germany international's representative, is currently finding a new club for his client, who was left out of the Gunners' squad for their trip to Everton at the weekend -- suggesting he may not figure in Arsene Wenger's plans.

Speaking to AreaNapoli.it, Pektas confirmed that Serie A is a plausible destination for Podolski, who arrived at Arsenal from Cologne in 2012.

"Your country is attractive -- you have attractive football being played there and you have many top European clubs," he said. "Napoli is certainly one of these. A great club, even though I've not yet had any contact with any club officials."

A return to the Bundesliga with Wolfsburg is also reportedly an option being discussed, as is a move to Juventus.

"We're open to everything," Pektas added. "The kind of contract does not matter, considering that my client, like any footballer, just wants to be playing as much as possible.

"Lukas is physically fine and it goes without saying that he'd like to be playing more frequently, but I won't go into the managerial decisions. Let's just wait and see what happens."

Napoli's search for a new forward has been put on hold for the time being as they turn their attention to Wednesday's Champions League playoff second leg against Athletic Bilbao.

Juve, already certain of their place in Thursday's Champions League group stage draw, could make their move before then, although Podolski does not seem to be their primary target.

The Italian champions are pondering a move for Monaco's Radamel Falcao, although the striker has said he is happy in France.

Should that bid fail, Podolski may well become the priority in Turin over the final week of the transfer window.
