PSG get back to winning ways

Paris Saint-Germain secured their first Ligue 1 win of the season with a straightforward 2-0 success at home to Bastia.

Goals from Lucas Moura and Edinson Cavani helped the champions get over last week's disappointing draw with Reims, despite being rocked by a first-half injury to Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The hosts suffered a setback in the opening stages when star striker Ibrahimovic was taken off with a back problem, adding to Laurent Blanc's injury woes after he lost Thiago Silva last week during a friendly with Napoli.

Marco Verratti and Gregory van der Wiel combined well before the latter's precise pass found Lucas Moura at the back post and the Brazilian made no mistake from close range with a well-taken side-footed volley. The second came just before the hour mark when Edinson Cavani got on the end of Verratti's free-kick before turning Anthony Modeste inside the area and finishing.

Toulouse recovered from their opening-day defeat to Nice by seeing off Lyon 2-1.

Alain Casanova's men were shaded in a five-goal thriller a week ago but got their season up and running after taking a 2-0 interval lead.

Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro opened the scoring 10 minutes in and then Wissam Ben Yedder doubled their advantage as the break approached.

That gave them the cushion they needed and they survived Alexandre Lacazette pulling one back in the second half.

Rennes got their campaign up and running with a stylish 6-2 rout of Evian.

Ola Toivonen, Mexer and Paul-Georges Ntep shared the goals as the hosts fashioned the perfect response to their defeat against Lyon on the opening weekend.

Daniel Wass replied twice for Evian but they have yet to register a point and face the daunting prospect of a meeting with defending champions PSG in their next league fixture.

Metz and Nantes both remain unbeaten after sharing the points in a 1-1 draw at Stade Saint-Symphorien.

Nantes, who beat Lens in their opening match, were briefly on course for another victory over another newly promoted side when Jordan Veretout put them ahead after just two minutes.

However, the hosts were level within 10 minutes when Yeni N'Gbakoto converted from the penalty spot after Juan Manuel Falcon had gone down very easily in the box, and that is the way the match finished.

Metz began the season in impressive fashion as they held a Lille side who finished third in Ligue 1 last term to a goalless draw away from home, but they suffered a miserable start to their first home match as Nantes scored with their first attack.

Substitute Ladislas Douniama scored a last-gasp winner for Guingamp as they defeated Lens 1-0 at the Stade De La Licorne.

Douniama, who replaced Ronnie Schwartz in the 83rd minute, finished off a rebound from Mustapha Yatabare's powerful strike to claim three points for his side in a game which had looked destined to finish in a draw.

The result meant Guingamp bounced back from their 2-0 opening-day defeat by St Etienne while Lens, who returned to France's top tier following an appeal after a runners-up finish in Ligue 2 last season, are still in search of a point after going down 1-0 at Nantes last week.

Lorient and Nice maintained their unbeaten starts after a 0-0 draw at the Stade du Moustoir.

Nice were grateful for goalkeeper Mouez Hassen, who made a string of vital saves throughout the match to keep the hosts at bay.

It ensured that both sides moved onto four points in the fledgling standings in the top flight following their respective victories on the opening weekend.
