The United States will face Ecuador in East Hartford, Connecticut, in their first friendly on American soil after the World Cup.
U.S. Soccer on Thursday announced the match, set for Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. ET at Rentschler Field, the home of the University of Connecticut football team. It will be broadcast on ESPN.
"We are really excited to get our first chance to play at home after the World Cup," said U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann in a statement. "The support from our fans in the United States and everyone that traveled to Brazil was awesome, and we want to build on that energy.
"We have an exciting four years ahead of us, and this is just the beginning. The U.S. team has a great history at Rentschler Field, so we are hoping for another big crowd against Ecuador."
The U.S. will be playing at Rentschler Field for the fifth time, and first since the 2013 Gold Cup.
An earlier trip to play Czech Republic in Prague is set for Sept. 3, while the U.S. announced earlier this week that the Yanks would conclude 2014 with a match against the Republic of Ireland in Dublin.
A planned home match against Colombia in September has fallen through, a source confirmed to ESPN FC. Colombia, facing uncertainty over the status of coach Jose Pekerman, failed to file paperwork on time and the match was called off, a source said.
Advance tickets to the Ecuador match go on sale to Visa cardholders on Thursday, Aug. 21, with tickets on sale to the public a day later, U.S. Soccer said.
