Chico, 27, will reunite with former Swans boss Michael Laudrup in Qatar after spending two years at the Liberty Stadium.

An official Lekhwiya statement read: "Spanish defender Chico Flores signed his contract with Lekhwiya starting the season 2014-2015 from the English team Swansea.

"Flores moved to Doha two days ago, and has successfully passed the medical examination before signing his contract.

"A press conference will be held in Doha to introduce the player to the media and disclose details of joining the club, after the return of the team from training in Austria."

Chico took to Twitter after the move was announced to thank Swansea for his time at the club.

During his two years at Swansea, Chico helped the club secure their first ever major trophy, winning the Capital One Cup in 2013.
