Juventus and Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini has reiterated his belief that the four-month suspension handed to Luis Suarez was "excessive."

Chiellini was bitten by Suarez during a World Cup group game between Uruguay and Italy in June, with the Azzurri defender initially furious that match referee Marco Rodriguez failed to spot the incident.
Retrospective action was taken against Suarez, who left teeth marks on Chiellini's shoulder, with FIFA banning him from all football-related activity for four months.
After receiving an apology from the Uruguayan, Chiellini expressed his belief on Twitter that the punishment was too harsh.

And the Juventus centre-back confirmed that his stance remained the same as Suarez and new club Barcelona wait for the results of their appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on Aug. 8.
"I said at the time I thought the ban was excessive and I hope it can be reduced," Chiellini said.
