Bebe, 24, joined United in 2010 from Vitoria de Guimaraes but was unable to make his mark at Old Trafford and has spent recent seasons out on loan.
After impressing with Pacos de Ferreira last season, he has signed with Portuguese champions Benfica.
A statement on Benfica's official website read: "Tiago Correia, better known as Bebe, will join Sport Lisboa e Benfica for the next four seasons. The Portuguese arrives via Manchester United having represented Pacos de Ferreira last season on loan."
The English side later revealed that the transfer would be worth up to three million euros as well as a future sell-on fee.
