The French Football League's Executive Committee is to examine the use of the vanishing spray for free kicks employed at the World Cup.
The spray has been in use in South American leagues for some years, but its inventor, Heine Allegmagne, has now claimed UEFA will use it in its competitions in the coming season after its successful introduction in Brazil.
Following agreement among its Administrative Council, the French Football League (LFP) will now consider allowing referees to use it in Ligue 1, Ligue 2 and the Coupe de la Ligue during the 2014-15 campaign when its Executive Committee meets on 24 July.
"It avoids protests and a loss of time. I have always been in favour of solutions that can help our referees," LFP president Frederic Thiriez explained in a statement on his organisation's official website.
"The LFP was, incidentally, the first to use the system of micro-ear-pieces that are today used across the major competitions. What is good for referees is good for football."
