Bayern not selling Xherdan Shaqiri

Xherdan Shaqiri will not be allowed to leave Bayern Munich, the club's sporting executive Matthias Sammer has reiterated.

Prior to the World Cup, Switzerland international Shaqiri, 22, voiced his discontent with his current status at Bayern.

Shaqiri's second season at the Bundesliga champions limited the midfielder to 17 Bundesliga appearances, mostly due to injuries.

Liverpool have been linked with making a move for Shaqiri but his current club insist the Swiss is not for sale.

"Xherdan is an important player for our future," Sammer told kicker on Monday. "We are not thinking about letting him go. We are very satisfied with him."

In recent weeks, Bayern have been linked with Colombia international Juan Cuadrado, who plays for Fiorentina.

However, according to kicker, Sammer denied that the club have put in an offer for the attacking midfielder.
