The Chilean newspaper had earlier reported that agent Fernando Felicevich, who was in London last week to work on Alexis Sanchez's transfer to Arsenal, had reached an agreement with United over Vidal during his time in London.

El Mercurio has reported that United have requested details of Vidal's medical history amid concerns over the state of his knee, but AS.com suggests Felicevich believes the move is close.

Vidal told La Tercera: "I've heard the rumours but I haven't spoken more about this. I'm enjoying my holidays and when I get back to Italy I'll see what happens. I am very relaxed and all of us would like to be in one of the best teams in the world."

ESPN FC has been informed that Juve had requested over 45 million pounds for the 27-year-old.

There have also been claims that United are closing in on Real Madrid star Angel Di Maria, but sources told ESPN FC the reports were wide of the mark.

AS.com reported that United have abandoned their pursuit of the Argentina international, with the player said to prefer a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
