Swansea confirm Napoli want Michu

Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins has confirmed to the South Wales Evening Post that the club are in talks with Napoli over the potential sale of forward Michu, but denies a deal is already in place.

- Transfer Talk: Arsenal still making market moves

The 28-year-old Spaniard enjoyed an impressive 2012-13 campaign with the Swans, scoring 18 Premier League goals in 35 appearances after signing from Rayo Vallecano for 2 million pounds.

But after finding the net just twice last season, a new start at Rafa Benitez's Partenopei side could prove too tempting to turn down -- though Jenkins suggests "various options" are open regarding either a loan or permanent deal.#INSERT type:inline END#

"Napoli have enquired about Michu and we have been talking to them and to Michu's agent," Jenkins said. "But there are other options and nothing is finalised yet."

Michu struggled with injury problems last season and a tactical switch in Michael Laudrup's formation, with last summer's signing Wilfried Bony often preferred as the main forward.

However, the Swans failed to cope with the struggles of Europa League football along with their domestic campaign, with Laudrup being sacked in February and Garry Monk keeping the club in the top flight after a relegation battle.

While Michu looks to be edging closer to an exit, Bony's future at the club is aso uncertain with Liverpool reportedly interested in the striker's signature following the departure of Luis Suarez to Barcelona.

But Jenkins has told of his "disappointment" at the Anfield club's apparent approach to the striker, saying: "I have had no talks with Liverpool until now, and I would be very surprised if a club like Liverpool are doing any kind of negotiations with a player or player's agent behind our back.

"I would have thought somebody from Liverpool would have been in touch if they are really interested in Wilfried."
