Ireland to play U.S. in Nov. 18 friendly

Ireland will host the United States for a post-World Cup friendly on Nov. 18, according to Irish media reports.

The Czech Republic is also scheduled to host the United States in an exhibition game at Prague on Sept. 3 as a warmup for 2016 European Championship qualifying.

Martin O'Neill's team open their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign in Tbilisi against Georgia on Sept. 7 and face Scotland on Nov. 14.

This will be the ninth time Ireland and the United States have met and the first time since April 2002, when Ireland won 2-1.

National teams are permitted to play up to two matches in each of three official FIFA time periods this fall: Sept. 1-9, Oct. 6-14, Nov. 10-18.

Ireland played four friendlies in the United States prior to the World Cup.
