Serge Aurier keen on PSG and Monaco

Toulouse right-back Serge Aurier has expressed his interest in a move to Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco, although he says he would prefer a switch to the Premier League.

Aurier, 21, has been linked with an exit from Les Pitchouns for some time, while his stock has only risen after some impressive displays for Ivory Coast at the World Cup.

The defender had been reported to be on his way to Arsenal, but now PSG and Monaco appear to have joined the race for his signature. The Gunners, meanwhile, seem to have turned their attention to Newcastle United's Mathieu Debuchy.

"When it was said that I had reached a deal with Arsenal, that I had already signed, that wasn't true," Aurier told Foot Mercato.

All that I can say is that the English league is the one I like most. Things are clear, I have always had a preference for England, because it's the league that suits me best. Having said that, I have not given my word to anyone, so I'm free to talk to clubs who approach me.

"To play in England would be a dream, but sometimes your dreams don't come true, so if PSG or Monaco are interested, that cannot be ignored. PSG and Monaco can see the people who look after me, and we'll see what happens. What I want is to join a club that gives me guarantees, where I'll play, if a transfer happens," Aurier said.

"I have had some whispers of PSG's interest. They're a very good club, one of the best in Europe right now. They are part of the top eight in Europe, and it's interesting to know that a team that has the means to buy anyone is interested in me. Moreover, I'm from Paris, so of course that comes into the equation. But I leave those around me to look after that."
