Morgan Schneiderlin coy on future

Morgan Schneiderlin has refused to commit his future to Southampton following speculation he could leave the club this summer.

Schneiderlin, 24, is currently on international duty with France at the 2014 World Cup but has watched Southampton colleagues Rickie Lambert and Luke Shaw leave for Liverpool and Manchester United respectively.

Saints captain Adam Lallana, meanwhile, is has undergone a medical with Liverpool ahead of a transfer.

Schneiderlin, who has made over 200 appearances for the club since joining from Strasbourg in 2008, is reportedly a target for Arsenal and Tottenham and he has asked them to match his ambitions in order to convince him to stay at St. Mary's.

"Listen, I'm aware of Southampton's situation," he told a prematch news conference ahead of France's round of 16 game with Nigeria on Monday.

"On a personal level, the club know my position and know what I want to do. I had a good conversation with all the directors.

"I've been there for a long time now. We'll see how things go, but the directors know my position and what my intentions are.

"Everyone has ambitions, everyone has his own future in his hands, so we'll see. Every player wants to play on big occasions."

Asked whether he could join former Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham, Schneiderlin added: "I'm not saying anything."
