Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen and 2010 World Cup winner Carles Puyol will carry the trophy onto the pitch before the World Cup final at the Maracana next month.

FIFA secretary general Jerome Valcke confirmed that the model and Puyol, who lifted the trophy with Spain in South Africa four years ago, would carry out the ceremonial duty in the buildup to the final on July 13.

But he dismissed reports that Bundchen, 33, would present the trophy to the winning captain at the end of the final.

World Cup tradition dictates that the presidents of the host nation and world football's governing body FIFA jointly present the trophy.

That means Dilma Rousseff and Sepp Blatter "should give the trophy to the winning team," Valcke said.
