Griezmann: Carlos Vela to stay

Antoine Griezmann says his Real Sociedad teammate Carlos Vela will not be returning to Arsenal.

Vela joined la Real in 2011 for around three million euros, but Arsenal reportedly have the right to re-sign the attacker for just four million euros this summer -- a tempting price given the 25-year-old scored 16 goals in 37 La Liga games last season.

Talks between the two clubs have continued throughout recent weeks, with the txuri-urdin hopeful of keeping the player and the Gunners seeking a payoff to give up the option on their former player.

Griezmann's comments to ESPN's Mexico service, which were picked up by Marca, suggest that a solution to the issue has been found and the player will remain with the Basque outfit.

"[Vela] is relaxed," Griezmann said. "He has already signed with la Real and you can see he is happy."

Asked whether he himself would be on the move this summer, with Real Madrid reportedly having joined Paris Saint-Germain as potential suitors, the 30 million euro rated France international was less forthcoming.

"I do not know about my future," Griezmann said. "We will see. I hope I stay. We will have to wait and see."
