U.S. to start Graham Zusi

Faced with replacing Jozy Altidore at forward against Portugal, United States manager Jurgen Klinsmann opted to change his formation instead.

Altidore suffered a strained hamstring against Ghana in the United States' first match, but without him, the Americans will attack Portugal with Clint Dempsey alone up top and Graham Zusi entering for a five-man midfield.

Zusi was a substitute in the opener against Ghana and provided the corner kick from which John Brooks scored the winning goal.

Center-back Matt Besler is back in the starting lineup after leaving the previous match at halftime as a precaution after tweaking a hamstring, while Brooks will begin on the bench.

There were no other changes for the U.S. from the first game. The full lineup:

Cristiano Ronaldo leads the attack for Portugal, which made four changes from their 4-0 defeat to Germany, including Beto for Rui Patricio in goal.

Raul Meireles, Ricardo Costa and Helder Postiga will also start, replacing the injured Fabio Coentrao, the suspended Pepe, and Hugo Almeida.
