Ivan Perisic wanted by Napoli - agent

Napoli want to sign Ivan Perisic from Wolfsburg, the Croatia international's agent has told AreaNapoli.it.

Perisic, who is currently with his country at the World Cup, has been strongly linked with a move to Everton but the winger's agent, Tonci Martic, said he would be open to a move to Italy.

"I personally have had regular contact with Napoli for my clients, including Perisic, and I can confirm that he is being tracked by [Napoli director Riccardo] Bigon." Martic said.

"He is very happy at Wolfsburg but if the two clubs were to reach an agreement over a transfer to Napoli then he would be very happy to play in your league."

The report suggests the 25-year-old would be available for around 12 million euros.

Meanwhile, Napoli boss Rafa Benitez has spoken of his delight at managing the club after completing a year at the helm.

"It's been just one year since I said that I was proud of joining such an important club with a strong willingness to improve," he told Napoli's official website. "I remember that I spoke about my positive feelings when sightseeing in the city and meeting its inhabitants.

"I suddenly felt appreciated and I was eager to give my all to improve day after day, working hard, with commitment, sacrifice -- a real positive plan. Today I celebrate my first introductory press conference at Castelvolturno as SSC Napoli's new coach and I would like to underline that all these thrilling emotions are alive and even stronger.

"After having worked and lived 12 months with you, visited your city and its marvellous sights, after our success achieving the third place in the championship, our great performance in Champions League and our victory in the Coppa Italia, I want you know about all the enthusiasm I've been feeling since my first day in Napoli.

"There is a strong and unchanged feeling to face a new year together. The new season is almost begun even if we have never stopped working, sharpening and improving. Thanks for your support and your love."
