Andrea Pirlo has signed a new contract with Juventus, committing himself to the Serie A champions for a further two years.

The Italian club announced via their official website on Wednesday that Pirlo, 35, had put pen to paper on a new deal until 2016.
It looks likely that the midifielder, who had been wanted by a number of clubs from around Europe, could now end his career in Turin as he will be 37 when his new contract expires.
"The fantastic story of Andrea Pirlo in Bianconero continues," read a statement. "Il Professore has signed a contract renewal which ties him to Juventus until June 30, 2016."
The Italy international has won three scudettos and two Italian Supercoppas since joining the Bianconeri on a free transfer from AC Milan in 2011.
Pirlo -- known as the professor -- has played 131 times for Juventus, scoring 14 goals, with many of those coming from direct free kicks.
Statistics illustrated on Juventus' website show how he averages more than one touch of the ball for every single minute on the field, further underlining his importance to the team.
Almost 90 percent of his 9,345 passes reached their man, while he provided 30 assists in three years with the Bianconeri.
