Hull's main striker in the FA Cup final Matty Fryatt has chosen to leave the Premier League to join Championship club Nottingham Forest. The 28-year-old has left the KC Stadium as new Forest manager Stuart Pearce reshapes the squad he inherited from the sacked Billy Davies. Fryatt, who was available on a free transfer after his contract expired, has signed a three-year deal with the two-time European Cup winners and will officially become a Forest player on July 1. The former Walsall forward turned down the offer of an extended deal and the chance to play European football for Hull in favour of first-team football. Fryatt was Hull's top scorer in their run to their first-ever FA Cup final and struck in the semifinal comeback to beat Sheffield United. With January signings Shane Long and Nikica Jelavic both cup-tied, he began Hull's 3-2 defeat to Arsenal at Wembley, even though he never started a Premier League game for City. "I am delighted to announce the signing of Matty Fryatt on a three-year contract, he is a player this club has admired for many years," Forest owner and chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi said. "I am delighted to have finally got our man. I look forward to welcoming him into this great club when his contract starts on July 1." Forest have also agreed to sign Sunderland midfielder David Vaughan and Southampton left-back Danny Fox, who were both on loan at the City Ground last season.
