Sevilla will not block Moreno move

Sevilla have vowed not to stand in Alberto Moreno's way if the left-back wants to join Liverpool.

Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers is interested in the 21-year-old but, despite reports of a 16 million-pound bid, the Liga club said they have not received an offer from the Reds.

But Sevilla president Jose Castro is adamant that while the highly-rated Moreno may move on this summer, he will not be allowed to leave for a cut-price fee.

"What I'm clear about is that we'll not force anyone to stay at Sevilla," he said. "Whoever wants to leave can do so, but we'll be the ones setting the prices.

"This club is experiencing a time of economic stability and we don't need to sell. We're going to be firm about this and we'll only consider selling outside the market, which gives us the opportunity to make our team competitive."

A left-back is a major summer target for Rodgers: first-choice Jose Enrique was injured for much of last season while Aly Cissokho failed to impress during his spell on loan from Valencia.

Right-back Jon Flanagan deputised on the left but while Rodgers is keen to sign a specialist in the position, Castro confirmed Liverpool are yet to make a formal bid for Moreno.

"It's true that there's interest from Liverpool and we're waiting to see if that turns into a reality, which right now, it isn't," he added.
