Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo to LA Galaxy a 'natural progression' - Keane

LA Galaxy striker Robbie Keane could envision Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo joining him at the MLS club, calling the move "a natural progression" for the Portugal captain.

Ronaldo has shown no signs of letting up despite turning 31 in February. The former Manchester United star has led Los Blancos to a second-place finish in La Liga and a berth in Champions League final against Atletico Madrid on Saturday in Milan.

Ronaldo has indicated he'd consider a move to the United States later in his career, and Keane believes following the likes of David Beckham and Steven Gerrard to Los Angeles would be a logical move for the high-profile player.

"I think it's probably a natural progression for him," Keane told TMZ Sports on Monday.

Ronaldo, who has been linked to a return to England as well as French giants Paris Saint-Germain, had previously ruled out a move to America.

He told the Jonathan Ross show in November: "In my mind I want to finish in the top level, I want to finish with dignity so in a good club. It doesn't mean that to go USA or Qatar or Dubai is not good but I don't see myself [going there]."

If he does make the jump, however, Keane wouldn't mind if Ronaldo waited a few more years.

"Hopefully, not for another couple of years. I've still got a couple of years left in me to play," Keane said of a possible move.

"I'll be still playing. It'd be great if we could play together."
