Juventus' Massimiliano Allegri plays down Premier League speculation

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has once again distanced himself from rumours linking him with a move to the Premier League by stating he is happy in Turin.

Allegri has been tipped to succeed Arsene Wenger at Arsenal in the summer, with the 67-year-old's contract at the Emirates Stadium due to expire at the end of the season.

The Juve boss played down such talk earlier this month and he again sidestepped the speculation at a news conference in Turin on Friday.

"I'm at Juve now and I know a lot has been written, but I've got to focus only on what we have to do here and now," Allegri said.

"In future, there will be time [to think of other things] but I've got to say I'm very happy at Juve.

"I've still got one-and-a-half years on my contract and am in great harmony with the club."

Allegri was asked whether he was tempted by the challenge of replicating the success of Claudio Ranieri at Leicester City following the Italian's dismissal on Thursday.

But he said that would be impossible, praising his compatriot for the job he did with Leicester and consoling him for becoming the latest victim of a results-driven game.

"Above all Ranieri is a coach whose name will go down in history, not only that of Leicester but of all football for winning the Premier League with them," the 49-year-old said.

"He needs to be proud of what he has done, but we coaches are linked to results. What Ranieri did at Leicester I think is unrepeatable for any coach."
