Juventus' Gonzalo Higuain tries not to think about record-breaking €90m fee

Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain has told Marca he finds his €90 million transfer fee "hard" but he tries to use it as a motivation to fire the Bianconeri to glory.

Higuain, 29, joined Juve from Napoli in an Italian record deal last summer but has gone on to score 13 goals in 19 Serie A appearances, and he hopes he will be regarded as a good investment.

"It's hard," he said. "The truth is that I try not to think about it too much. It doesn't upset me, on the contrary it gives me the will and strength to meet their valuation.

"I hope that, by May, the club can say that it was a good deal. I'm trying my best to make it that way."

It isn't just domestic success with Juventus -- who are aiming for their sixth successive Scudetto -- that Higuain wants. The Argentina international is keen to win the Champions League too.

"Yes, no doubt," he said when asked if he is motivated by Europe. "Like every player, but it requires patience. Fortune plays an important role and the good thing is that we have three objectives and are still alive in all of them. We must be patient."

Higuain didn't endorse comparisons of Paulo Dybala with Lionel Messi, but did back his teammate for club and country to become "world class."

"Well, one is just starting out and the other has won everything," he said. "It's a comparison that doesn't come to my mind. Paulo has to be calm, he is young and has everything to be himself. He also has everything to be world class."
