Inter Milan stay perfect with Crotone win; Dzeko double lifts Roma

Inter Milan maintained their perfect start to the season with a hard-fought 2-0 win on Saturday at Crotone -- the only team yet to score a goal in Serie A this campaign.

Inter had won their previous three matches comfortably but found it harder than expected before Milan Skriniar broke the deadlock eight minutes from time and Ivan Perisic sealed the result in stoppage time.

Opportunities were few and far between at the Stadio Scida and it was Crotone that had the best chances, with Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic pulling off two fine second-half saves to deny Aleksandar Tonev and Marcus Rohden.

However, Inter took the lead when a free kick ricocheted around the area before Skriniar eventually bundled in the ball with his third attempt. It was the former Sampdoria defender's first Serie A goal.

Perisic doubled Inter's lead when he was left completely unmarked to gather Joao Mario's pass, cut inside and fire into the bottom right corner.

Edin Dzeko scored twice as Roma made light work of struggling Hellas Verona in a 3-0 win despite a torrential downpour in the capital.

Radja Nainggolan beat the offside trap after linking up with Stephen El Shaarawy to slot in the opener from inside the 18-yard box in the 22nd minute before Dzeko headed in at the far post from Alessandro Florenzi's cross shortly after the half hour mark.

Roma dominated proceedings and after the break Aleksandr Kolarov went close with a curling free-kick from 20 metres out before he rolled in a low pass for Dzeko, who slid in his second and Roma's third.

Hellas' bad luck continued as defender Samuel Souprayen was sent off in the 66th minute and Giampaolo Pazzini's goal was ruled out for offside.

Fiorentina leapfrogged mid-table Bologna in the early-season standings courtesy of a 2-1 derby dell'Appennino triumph.

Federico Chiesa put La Viola ahead with a fierce drive six minutes into the second half at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

Parity was restored within 60 seconds by Rodrigo Palacio, but German Pezzela had the decisive say with a looping header from a corner on 69 minutes.
