Inter Milan's owners promising a 'great' future for the club

Inter Milan's Chinese owners have reiterated their commitment to doing all they can to strengthen the squad and make the Nerazzurri competitive again.

Zhang Jindong, the head of the Suning Group, which now owns the Serie A club, is currently on a visit to Milan where he is discussing strategies with directors.

Jindong made it clear in the only comments he gave to reporters that he and his group are serious about their investment in Inter.

"We want the good of Inter and there is going to be a great future with us," he is quoted as saying by Gazzetta dello Sport. "We want to make this club even stronger and we are intent on doing things in a big way."

The Nerazzurri's 4-2 win over Fiorentina on Monday has lifted them up to eighth in the Serie A standings, but they are still eight points behind the top three and their stated objective of a return to the Champions League next season.

They travel to Napoli on Friday night before concluding their Europa League campaign at home to Sparta Prague next Thursday, with their elimination from the competition already sealed. Serie A games against Genoa and Sassuolo follow before Lazio visit the San Siro.

Inter coach Stefano Pioli will then have the opportunity to make alterations to his squad in the January transfer window with funds expected to be made available for investment.
