Karim Bellarabi scores 50,000th goal in Bundesliga history

Bayer Leverkusen's Karim Bellarabi scored the 50,000th goal in Bundesliga history on Friday.

Bellarabi put his side ahead at Augsburg in the 23rd minute with his first goal of the season to secure the milestone.

It took 53 years for the German league to reach that mark, and includes 3,391 penalties and 984 own goals.

Bayern Munich legend Gerd Muller contributed the most of any player with 365 league goals. The active leader is Claudio Pizarro with 190.

For Bellarabi, the goal marked his second entry into the Bundesliga record book, as he also shares the fastest goal. He scored after nine seconds on the opening day of the season in 2014.
