Hamburg move off foot of table with first win; Augsburg fight back to draw

Hamburg celebrated their first win of the season, with their 2-0 triumph at fellow strugglers Darmstadt lifting them off the bottom of the Bundesliga.

Michael Gregoritsch scored for the second week running, after grabbing a brace against Werder Bremen, to put the northern side ahead in a game which was understandably scrappy given what was at stake.

Darmstadt tried to respond in the second half, but Matthias Ostrzolek killed the game off in the last minute as Hamburg finally won in the league at the 13th time of asking.

Augsburg conceded their first goal in 322 minutes but fought back to take a point in a 1-1 draw against high-flying Eintracht Frankfurt.

Branimir Hrgota gave Frankfurt the lead with a fine strike from 20 yards, controlling the ball well before finishing into the bottom right-hand corner.

But Dong-Won Ji emulated Hrgota's heroics to bring Augsburg level from the same distance before the break.
