Goodison Park, England
And that's the final whistle - Everton have erased the memories of their Wigan horror show in real style. A great win over an admittedly lacklustre City, who could be 15 points adrift at the top after Manchester United take on Reading at Old Trafford.
That rounds off an absolutely wonderful performance by Everton. They have been utterly outstanding, and this is the most deserved of victories.
GOAL: The striker takes his time and curls a shot that takes a slight deflection off Clichy and sails beyond Joe Hart into the corner.
The home fans are whistling for full-time as Fellaini breaks and feeds Jelavic to his right...
Naismith is all the way back inside his own area to head clear for Everton. Seconds remaining now.
Dzeko flicks and then tries to pick up the pieces from the half clearance. Back come City. Clichy crosses and Mucha again punches away.
Three minutes of added time at Goodison. Nasri crosses, Mucha flaps at it but then catches at the second time of asking.
Osman is booked for preventing it being taken quickly.
We are into the final minute of normal time here. Free-kick City, which they'll play long.
Victor Anichebe gets a huge reception as he's substituted by Nikica Jelavic.
Zabaleta hooks the ball in and Mucha punches away and Everton clear their lines.
Then Fellaini nips in to rob a dawdling Silva. Two minutes of normal time remaining...
A very controversial moment - the Fellaini handball was unquestionably inside the area.
Tevez looks as though he'll take... but Kolarov does, and hits the wall.
...but the referee says free-kick outside. That should have been a penalty for City.
Tevez shoots and it looks as though it's been blocked by Fellaini's arm. It's inside the box...
Heitinga does well to thwart Tevez and then plays the ball forward towards Anichebe. It beats the forward and drifts out of play, however.
Everton have a corner but waste it. Around five minutes remaining at Goodison.
Milner is off and Gael Clichy on and Kolo Toure off and Scott Sinclair on as City make another change. Their faint title hopes are becoming fainter still with every passing moment.
Coleman makes a great attacking run - he's been superlative today. Nastasic puts the ball out for an Everton throw.
Nasri tries a shot from the edge of the area. It deflects, and Much is there to hold on.
Kolarov crosses towards Tevez. Coleman gets a crucial touch. City turning up the heat just a little, and they have a corner.
Fellaini is there as the ball is played in very deep. Yet again, excellent work-rate and desire from Everton.
Again, that could have been City's chance. But there's another one as Silva almost gets in Milner's way when there's a shooting chance. It will be a corner, though...
Good movement from City frees Zabaleta on the right of the box. He bears down on Mucha, who makes another good block to keep Everton in front.
The cross is a good one and Distin gets there, only to steer the header over. That probably should have been 2-0, and that probably would have been game over.
Anichebe holds the ball up, Coleman overlaps and Everton win another corner. It's Anichebe's turn to gee up the Gwladys Street end.
They win a throw in an attacking position on the left, which Kolarov will take. But City lose it and Everton break, only for sub Naismith to give the ball away.
That, to be honest, looked like a soft decision. City don't quibble, though, and try to get going themselves once more with time beginning to run out.
Baines will take it... Heitinga heads down dangerously, but referee Probert says free-kick.
Roberto Mancini looks agitated on the touchline as Everton come forward once more. They win another corner.
City cross long and Dzeko tries to pick up the pieces. Kolarov tries his luck with a cross, and that's cleared by Distin for a City corner.
City on the left - Kolarov crosses towards Silva, whose control, uncharacteristically, lets him down.
Twenty minutes remaining at Goodison - still City seek an equaliser.
Barry is off and Samir Nari on for City, while Everton take off Kevin Mirallas and bring on Steven Naismith.
The ball is worked short but scrambled away by City. They play it towards Tevez, and Coleman does superbly to deny him space and time.
Everton come forward again, and the hard-working Anichebe wins them another corner, this one from the left.
City's best moment of the match so far, but the Everton stand-in 'keeper did very well.
Tevez tries to find a low pass into the area, but can't. Tevez gets a shot in from a Dzeko pass - Mucha stops it and blocks Milner's rebound from an angle. Good double stop, that.
City pass the ball around inside their own half. Again, Anichebe does his utmost to keep the pressure on, but the visitors make their way forward again.
Milner looks to have made a late challenge on Mirallas as Everton clear. There's no booking, and the home fans don't like that one little bit.
Milner rolls it to Kolarov, whose attempted shot is feeble.
Tevez is fouled on the left by Coleman - a dangerous free-kick for City, and they can swing this one into the area...
It's deep towards Distin, but City get it clear. Dzeko misplaces in midfield and Gibson is in there for Everton, who are working tigerishly.
Mirallas tries to lift the Gwladys Street end as Everton come forward again to win a corner, which Mirallas will take.
And he's sent off - Everton are down to ten with half an hour remaining. This could be a long half-hour for them. No real debate about the referee's decision.
Pienaar challenges late on Garcia just inside the City half. It's high and he could be in trouble - he's already been booked...
Baines takes the corner, but it swerves out before it goes back into the area. Goal-kick City.
Corner to Everton - Baines delivers and Osman has half a chance but can only steer the ball over the top via a deflection.
Milner takes on Baines and crosses long - too long. Goal-kick for Everton.
Mirallas floats it in, but referee Probert had seen some shoving inside the area and blows for a City goal-kick.
Mirallas chases a dangerous ball down the centre from Everton. Kolo Toure gets it away, and the home side have a throw. From that, they win a corner...
Much better from Manchester City, this - this is what Mancini would have wanted from his players.
Garcia could have profited from that on the edge of the six-yard box. Then Barry flicks on and Nastasic can't quite get there.
Zabaleta is challenged well by Fellaini. Then Barry crosses, Milner heads down and Everton - just about - scramble that ball clear.
Coleman and Fellaini link well for Everton down the right - but City get that away and come forward with the industrious Milner.
City have the ball again, but more good work from Anichebe sees them forced to play it back to Hart.
Leon Osman has the only goal of the game so far, but City have started much brighter in this half. Kolarov crosses, and Heitinga gets it away.
Garcia tries a cross for City from the right, but it's a poor one. Anichebe chases the clearance, and the crowd liked that. Good work from the Everton man.
Indeed he is. Nastasic, meanwhile, finds Dzeko, whose flick is put out of play by Heitinga.
The Everton man is led off the pitch, but it looks as though he should soon be back in the fray.
Anichebe looks to have got a bang to the head in a challenge with Garcia, and the game is stopped.
The ball falls to Kolarov on the left-hand side of the area. He tries a shot - when he had colleagues in better positions - and it flies over the top.
City, with no unexpected additions, get the second half under way.
Bizarreness from pre-match as a pitch invader attempted to warm up with the City players.
And that's half-time - Moyes will be delighted with Everton, who deserve their advantage. City have been disappointing and can only be better after the break. Can't they?
David Silva gets a yellow for a clumsy challenge in midfield, and Everton will swing this one in. Fellaini, though, is adjudged to have fouled his defender Nastasic.
Baines challenges Milner well on halfway, preventing him from getting the ball forward.
Two minutes of added time will be played at the end of this first half.
A long ball forward from Everton skips all the way through to Hart. As the ball comes back to the other end, Distin does well to see off Tevez. Not only that, he wins his side a throw.
That could have been a second for Everton, who have a minute of normal time in which to hold on and take a lead into the second half.
Coleman crosses deep and Mirallas heads for goal after Hart's poor punch. Kolo Toure gets a vital touch to divert the effort over the bar.
Seconds later, there's another cross - a good one this time - but Dzeko heads over the top when he might perhaps have done better.
Dzeko wins a loose ball and finds Silva. Dzeko had continued his run into the area, but the cross is overhit and he can't get there.
Mirallas raids down the left as Everton break after Tevez had given the ball away. City clear this one, though.
City have abandoned their three at the back policy, which really wasn't working. It hasn't been working from the first whistle for them.
Milner tries to get somewhere down the right. But he can't. City get it back and Tevez tries a shot from an angle outside the box - it's well hit, but it's wide.
Gibson crosses from the right and Fellaini heads it into the area. It's cleared, but the played back in to Anichebe who controls but shoots over from an angle.
Dzeko flicks on, but there's nobody anywhere near him for City. Boss Roberto Mancini, surely, can expect an improvement from his all-star cast after the break.
Mirallas gets away from Milner on the left of the area, but stumbles and loses his footing.
Nastasic does well for the visitors from the corner, standing firm to get it away.
Anichebe gets away on the left and finds a good cross. Kolarov heads behind for a corner...
What a goal by Osman, the skipper for the day. Apart from that little spell of pressure by City, the home side have been the better and more purposeful and deserve that advantage.
Milner crosses as City try to hit back. Everton clear and a through ball almost finds the lurking Mirallas.
GOAL: And what a hit it is - bending away from Hart, who is rooted to the spot, and into the top corner. Everton have the advantage!
The ball will fall to Osman again, about 30 yards out, and he can hit this one...
Kolo Toure fouls Anichebe and Everton build again from a free-kick inside their own half. Osman has the ball and looks for Pienaar...
Fellaini tries to attack it, but the ball is dealt with well by Joe Hart.
And that's City's first yellow card of the day. Dangerous free-kick, too.
Kolarov manhandles Osman after losing the ball to him on the left.
Anichebe does well to win the ball back from Garcia, but it then ricochets off him and out for a City throw.
They don't get one from Lee Probert. Distin is soon back on his feet.
Kolarov will take this one. He blasts it from all of 40 yards, and it's blocked. When the ball comes back in, Barry clashes with Distin. The crowd want a booking.
And definitely a booking. What can City do from the free-kick?
Pienaar lunges in on Barry. That's a poor challenge, and probably a booking.
Everton look long towards Anichebe. Kolo Toure is there to nod the ball back to his goalkeeper.
That's three efforts on goal in as many minutes by City, who had been moribund up until that point.
Suddenly, City have woken up a little. Silva now, down the left. Again Dzeko shoots, and again Mucha is in the right place.
Heitinga steers a potentially awkward long ball back to his keeper, but City come again. Dzeko shoots this time, and Mucha gets it right again.
Dzeko flicks to the very, very quiet Tevez. He gets in a shot from distance, and Mucha's handling is good.
Back they come, though, and win a free-kick midway inside the Everton half and on the right. Silva bends it in and Mucha keeps his eyes on that one all the way, gathering at his far post.
A bit more like it from City - a little spell of crisp passing inside the Everton half. It doesn't last long, mind you.
That's wasted by Osman, though - it's played back to him and the ball into the area is near nobody at all, bouncing out for a City goal-kick.
Pienaar and Fellaini and Osman combine to find Baines on the left, and his cross is again cut out for a corner.
With 20 minutes played, Moyes will be delighted with the response his team have provided to that Wigan debacle.
Pienaar does well and sweeps the ball to Mirallas. He then finds Coleman, but the full-back gets his cross wrong.
Dzeko produces a neat touch to give Silva time on the right. His cross is deflected and ultimately harmless.
City are being pressured at every turn. They are trying to pass it around inside their own half, but Everton are ganging up on them and denying them any space or time.
But you can give a lot of credit for that to Everton, whose approach has been nothing if not whole-hearted.
Manchester City have shown nothing so far. Not a thing. They have been sluggish at best.
And the end result is a corner from the left. Baines will try to conjure something here...
Neat football from Baines, Mirallas and Baines gives Gibson a chance to cross. He does - not very well - but that was good stuff from Everton.
Pienaar fouls Zabaleta deep inside the City half. Free-kick to the visitors.
That looks like a lucky escape for City - the Everton attackers appeared to be level.
Coleman crosses, and when the ball comes back in Mirallas finishes beautifully from an angle - but he is adjudged to have been offside.
Milner gives possession away and Fellaini finds Osman. Milner tries to make amends and crunches in to Osman. Another free-kick for Everton, another chance to cross.
Gibson tries to feed the ball forward to Coleman on the right, but that's easily cut out by the City defence.
They have hardly given City a second in which to get settled on the ball, and the fans at Goodison are responding to that.
Purposeful again from Everton, who were clearly stung by that dreadful defeat against Wigan in the Cup.
It's about 30 yards out - Gibson takes but it's poor and hits the wall. Coleman picks up the pieces, though, and does well to win a corner on the right.
A bit of a harem-scarem start. Toure fouls Anichebe and Everton have another free-kick in a potentially dangerous position.
He does - his tenth yellow card of the season, and that will trigger a two-game ban.
Fellaini makes a strong challenge on Milner as the City man comes forward. It's a strong one, and he may be booked.
When the ball comes in, Kolo Toure wins a firm header - unchallenged - to get the ball out of the City area. Baines crosses again, and it's belted away.
This is a dangerous one. Pienaar and Baines are over it...
Long downfield from Everton, and Fellaini flicks it on. Baines does well and is felled by Milner. Free-kick to the home side.
Dzeko isn't happy with one or two challenges. Distin beat him in the air and he felt, again, that he was fouled.
Then the big Belgian tries the same trick again, but the ball is overhit and out of play.
Fellaini nudges the ball out towards Gibson on the right for Everton. He can't make anything of that, though.
Free-kick to City, inside the Everton half. It's cleared and played long to Dzeko. He thinks he's being fouled, but the referee says he isn't.
The home side have the ball, coming forward down the right - but City snap into the challenges and bring it forward themselves. That's blocked for a throw.
And we're off - Everton get the action under way. There's a good reception from the home fans, who were in less charitable mood against Wigan.
A little over 15 minutes remain until kick-off at Goodison - Everton will feel that things can only be better than they were against the Latics.
Goalkeeper Tim Howard is still out of action with a back injury, meaning that Jan Mucha will continue to deputise for him.
Everton's selection means both skipper Phil Neville and currently misfiring striker Nikica Jelavic are on the bench. Neither had good afternoons in the home FA Cup thrashing by Wigan last weekend.

The City team in full: Hart, Zabaleta, Kolo Toure, Nastasic, Milner, Garcia, Barry, Kolarov, Silva, Tevez, Dzeko.
The big team news is that City will be without Yaya Toure. The club tweeted: "Yaya Toure is unwell. Nothing serious, but bad enough to keep him out, unfortunately."
