FULL TIME - And there is the whistle! Chelsea will be sick at letting in such a late goal and as Suarez laps up the acclaim he must know he'll get all the headlines for good and bad reasons. He rescues a point for Liverpool and Chelsea lose ground in the top four race. Plenty more to come on his day so keep it locked on ESPN FC.
That is astonishing - Suarez nods the ball to Sturridge and then gets into the area and flicks past Cech from the resulting cross. He's in line for a lengthy ban but he's signed off with a goal. You couldn't make it up!

A very muted atmosphere at Anfield. I think news of the Suarez incident may have filtered through. Still urging their team on though.
Suarez turns in the area and offloads to Henderson but he was off balance and his volley flashes five yards wide. Tough chance.

And Liverpool should be level! Shelvey played in by Henderson after Sturridge's flick but from 12 yards out and with only Cech to beat he's dragged his shot wide.

The corner comes out to Hazard who fires in a fierce shot that is flicked over the bar by Enrique.

Replays show Suarez DID bite Ivanovic. Oh dear me. We'll not hear the end of that. The FA might want to take a look at it.

Azpilicueta adjudged to have handled and is booked, very harshly in my opinion.
A delightful chip from Suarez to set it up, Downing pulls it back and Suarez's clip is inch perfect for Sturridge who stabs home from close range.

From the corner Enrique shanks the ball up in the air, Reina punches clear then Torres fires a volley miles over.
Now Chelsea hit back, Torres shooting but finding it blocked, then Ramires feeds him wide and the cross is dealt with by a lunging Carragher.
Now Sturridge hits the post! He's a man possessed! A fine long range effort beats Cech but not the upright, then Johnson drills a cross right in front of goal without a touch.
Sturridge makes an immediate impact, cutting in and finding Gerrard and only a fine save from Cech preserves Cech's lead.
A Liverpool change as we begin again: Coutinho departs and Sturridge comes on.

HALF TIME - Chelsea with the better of that half, despite the odd chance for Liverpool. Rafa's return successful so far, but still plenty of time left.
Nicely into Suarez from Henderson but his shot rolls into Cech's arms at the near post.
Mata plays in Hazard and his ball looks for Torres but a little touch from Carragher ensures safety.

Genuine chance created by Downing, cutting inside, playing in Suarez and his shot from a tight angle is beaten away by Cech.

Reina is out quickly to deny his pal Torres as Oscar tried to slide him in. Johnson lost the ball.

A superb, sweeping move from Liverpool, one that he started. He charges in from the right and is slipped in by Suarez but can't wrap his foot round the ball and pokes wide.

But once that oddity is out of the way it is down to business and with Tottenham's win Chelsea can't afford to drop points here. Should they lose they'd only be ahead of Spurs courtesy of goal difference.
So, are well prepared for the odd sight of Rafa being cheered by the home fans and booed by the away fans? It'll one of the odder happenings this season, no doubt about it.
