KICK OFF A good game between two good sides. A draw probably the fair result as Valencia pressed hard after Lampard's goal. Kalou will have a lot to answer for after giving away a needless penalty but I think the Blues would have taken a draw before the game.
Mata carded for dissent, and Cole too as they were upset at not being allowed to take a late free kick. Game over.
Malouda wants a penalty as he darts into the area but then he trips to Jordi Alba and Valencia get the decision.
Canales with a beautiful pass over the top for Soldado, but he can't control it and the chance is lost. He looks disgusted with himself.
Three minutes added....
Anelka with a great chance but he's hit it right at Diego Alves! Kalou redeems himself with an assist.
Kalou is having a stinker. He gets flagged for offside when he shouldn't have done and now miscontrols right out of play.
Kalou just flicked a hand above his head as the corner came in. No need to do it, even if he did get a nudge from Piatti.
GOAL Soldado scores!

Chelsea retreating deep now but Valencia can't find a way through, as such Jonas shoots from 25 yards and Cech saves very week.

Luiz does well to intercept a pass but his eagerness to get the next one means he gives away a free kick.
Good break from Feghouli but the final ball is lacking as he got into the area.
Bosingwa catches Jordi Alba on the foot and the Valencia man goes down as if there's a sniper in the building. Free kick.
Canales' ball looking for Feghouli isn't great and Cole draws a foul after shielding the ball wide.
A breakaway from Chelsea with numbers in support. Mata feeds Lampard, whio finds Malouda but his effort is saved by Diego Alves.
Rami has a pop from 35 yards and Cech saves easily.
Piatti drags a shot wide as a cross comes in from the left. Cech was static.
Cech saves well from Feghouli's shot.
The final push for Valencia.
Changes ahoy here, Torres off for Anelka. For Valencia, Hernandez and Banega come off and Jonas and Feghouli are on.
Now Jordi Alba nods wide.
Piatti goes through this time as Chelsea fail to defend another ball over the top and Cech does well to get fingertips to his effort.
Mata wants a penalty as he steps inside Rami after collecting a Malouda pass. He rather looked for it as he ran into Rami - the defender couldn't get out of the way.
Torres' return ball for Malouda is poor and Diego Alves is out to get it. Anelka being readied.
Ramires trots off and Meireles replaces him.
Cech goes wandering as Soldado gets to a ball before him but the angle was wide and as the striker crosses Terry can hack it clear.
Bit too intricate from Banega as he gets past Bosingwa but not Luiz, who had read his intentions well.
Soldado wins a corner as Valencia start to press more.
That was Lampard's first UCL goal away from Stamford Bridge since the equaliser in the 2008 final in Moscow.
Soldado gets onto a ball over the top as Terry looks for offside but though the striker's touch is good, Cech had read it and claims.
Very nearly 2-0 as Mata releases Cole and he fires across goal looking for Torres but Rami boots clear.
Maybe that switch can help Valencia regain some impetus.
Piatti comes on for Mathieu.
Chelsea are looking in control now. Very muted celebration from Lampard after his goal.
Diego Alves is beaten and Lampard has a goal on his return, Malouda gets to the byline and crosses and the midfielder fires home from 16 yards.
GOAL Lampard scores!
Wow. What a passage of play. Diego Alves made four top quality saves in the space of four minutes!
Another world class save from Diego Alves! A brilliant dink from Mata finds Torres who controls, then volleys in one motion from seven yards out but the keeper gets a touch on it to take it wide.
Now Ramires goes clean through one on one but hits his shot right at Diego Alves! His last touch didn't help as it closed down the angle. Chelsea should be in front.
An excellent section of play ends with Mathieu thumping in a low drive that Cech gets right behind.
It's fair to say the game has come to life, now Valencia have their best chance as Banega crosses to the back post, Cech is nowhere and Terry gets a vital touch to prevenmt Soldado heading into an empty net.
What a save from Diego Alves! A point blank stop from Torres' header.

Meanwhile, back in Valencia, very little is happening I'm afraid.
Manchester City have confirmed that Carlos Tevez has been suspended for two weeks while they investigate last night's events. Full story on site shortly.
A cagey start to the second before Albelda is carded for a clip on Malouda.
We begin again. No changes to either side.
Torres and Rami go shoulder-to-shoulder in the area
Don't forget Mark Lomas is on MatchDay Live duty. He'll have all the evening's goals as they go in around the continent.
HALF TIME A lively half, with decent possession for both sides but no real clear cut chances for either side. You feel one goal could win this for either side.
Benga wastes a free kick on the left of the area by hitting it right at Cech but as they regroup, Hernandez fires in a volley right at the keeper. Good effort.

A decent move from Chelsea ends with a good ball in from Bosingwa but no-one is in the box to profit.

Mata fires in a low shot and wins a corner as it takes a flick off a white shirt.
Bangea floats a ball over Bosingwa to Mathieu and his cross is shanked, flying over Cech and his crossbar.
Cech claims a Hernandez cross at the near post.
A lovely link up between Torres, who dummies a Lampard ball, and Mata, who slots it back to the striker. Sadly, the third pass is off key and Valencia regain possession.
Pablo Hernandez makes a mug of Terry just outside the box, twisting, turning and finally jinking past him and crossing but to no-one at the back post.
Lampard has had a quietly effective game, more as a linker of play in the Scholes role than getting forward. He breaks up an attack there and feeds Mikel, who is fouled.
Luiz tidies up a slightly sloppy piece of play from Bosingwa near the corner flag.
Banega's floated ball over the top finds Soldado offside. Only just, too.

Ramires is back but limping noticeably.
Pablo Hernandez has hit the side-netting as Mathieu fires a cross into the near post. Very close to the opening goal.
Ramires is down after the corner. Looked like Miguel hung out a leg and caught him in the shin. Obviously, he needs to get better shin pads.

Banega wins a corner this time - his shot got a flick off Terry.

Good move down the right as Miguel fires a low shot in and Lampard deflects it behind for a corner.
Messi has put Barca 1-0 in BATE.
Off beam from Banega again after a good break towards the edge of the box. His ball wasn't in the path of Soldado and Mathieu couldn't pick up the pieces.

David Luiz hurtles forward but Malouda gives the ball away and he is forced to trawl his frizzy mop back into defence.
Lampard's low effort is saved well low down by Diego Alves.
A yellow for Victor Ruiz after pulling back Ramires, who was on a lung-busting run. Alba was up with his fellow defender, or else it could have been red.
Soldado gets clear down the right but cuts it back to Mathieu and the momentum is lost.
Terry does well to intervene as a short backpass nearly lets Soldado in - Cech hurries it away.
Much better from Valencia as they work it down the right and Mathieu fires in a cross that Cech fumbles a lilttle before claiming.
Arsenal are already in front through Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Total dominance from Chelsea at present - a very nervous opening from Valencia.
It's all Chelsea at present as Mata works it to Cole and his shot is saved comfortably by Alves.
More pressure from Chelsea as Malouda gets into the area, tries to find Ramires and he is tackled by Victor Ruiz, who was facing his own goal, and the ball squirts narrowly wide off the defender.
