FULL TIME Wolves are officially relegated but in stark contrast to their woe, City are back in the title race in a big way. They win 2-0 to move with in three points of Man Utd, with the derby looming a week on Monday. It's all coming to the boil nicely.
A superb effort from Yaya Toure who smashes a shot just past the post with De Vries beaten.
And now it is pouring down, the final indignity for Terry Connor and Wolves.
Two minutes added....
Another chance for City to create a third but it is all a bit tight in the area and Yaya Toure can't provide a cross.
A muted atmosphere among the home fans as the realisation of relegation sinks in.
Lescott heads wide before City make their final change: Kolo Toure replacing Nasri.
A super save from De Vries as Stearman inadvertently met Zabaleta's cross.
Mancini was absolutely livid after that Aguero fluff - punching the air in disgust.
Goal difference could still be a factor in the title race so any extra ones City can rack up will help and they have just wasted a glorious chance. Aguero, clean through, fluffs his shot into De Vries' arms. What was that?!
I wonder if Mancini will concede the title race is back on after the game, or stick to his "it's finished" line?
Nothing left to play for but pride for Wolves now and their fans are still backing the team, to their great credit.
Hart flaps a cross to Doyle and he wins a corner off Nasri.
Another chance for City as Aguero gets round the back and crosses in between both Johnson and Nasri.
Fletcher comes off and Ebanks-Blake is on. Odd. Wolves need goals.
Johnson nearly scores with his first touch. De Vries saves his low shot.
Tevez is off too, and Adam Johnson comes on. Keeping Carlos fresh for the derby.
Just before Nasri pulled the trigger, Bassong pulled his hamstring. He goes off, Berra comes on. Wolves are going down.
Tevez wins a debatable free kick and takes it quickly, Clichy returns it and finds Nasri who fires into the corner.
GOAL Nasri scores!
Excellent from Doyle as he hassles Clichy then wins a corner off Barry.
City are flagging a bit here. This is not the dominant performance they were after.
Now Aguero is sprung over the top and he narrowly fails to get a touch on the ball as De Vries came out to claim.
Then Wolves give the ball away and Tevez shoots on goal. Outcome? Block.
Toure gets round the back and crosses, Stearman cuts it out then he and Henry leave the ball to each other - that could have been embarrassing.
Stearman just hoofs the ball out of play when he had reasonable possession.
A good diagonal ball to Bassong who knocks it back to Kightly but his cross is miles over everyone's head and out for a goal kick.
The game is still very much in the balance. Wolves will have to edge more men forward sooner rather than later.
Good battling from Ward down the left, winning his side a throw.
Such an easy pass for Toure to find Zabaleta but Bassong nods clear his cross.
Great work from Tevez as he turns Stearman and pulls the ball across the face - Aguero wasn't anticipating it and perhaps he should have been.
David Edwards trots off and Kevin Doyle is on.
Bassong follows Tevez and locks onto his arm for a full 30 yards. Wolves fans love it.
Silva is removed, and is not happy about it, Nigel De Jong comes on.
Now Davis crosses, Stearman flicks on and Lescott turns it behind for a corner. Wolves on the march.
The free kick is nodded into the air by Kompany and as it drops Fletcher forces Hart into a full-stretch save. Corner.
Toure gets the first yellow of the match, clipping Kightly from behind.
It's just not quite happening for Wolves, the wrong pass at the wrong time.
Silva wants a foul for a shove by Henry but nothing is given then Jarvis fires a shot over the bar.
Then follows a spell of City pressure, that ends with another Tevez shot blocked.
That has lifted the crowd and Wolves are looking a little more threatening again.
Brilliant work from Jarvis who wriggles into the area and crosses, then the ball comes back to him and he battles manfully to hold onto it with no help from his colleagues at all.
A late tackle from Tevez on Stearman. He quickly apologises. Commentator quips: "He can say sorry then."
Great tracking from Toure as he harries Jarvis down the touchline. What a player he is.
We are back underway....
In the other 4pm kick off, it is Liverpool 0-0 West Brom at half time.
Here is a link to our live Premier League table so you can follow all the ups and downs as the game progresses.
Aguero celebrates his opener
HALF TIME A good half and City deservedly in front but they will feel they should have added to Aguero's goal. Wolves looking bright early on but fading as it went on - they have to go for it in the second half. They are going down as things stand.
Awful pass from Silva as Tevez made a good run. They've had some real chances to score goals this half and Mancini will not be happy it is only 1-0.
Goodness me, there are some shirtless Manchester City fans in the stands. Not a pretty sight.
Now Fletcher is down after a bump on the head.
Toure pops off a pass and then barges into Davis who stood in his path. An arm in the face by the looks. If anything, it was a City free kick though.
Then City rebuild and Nasri flashes a ball right across the face of goal. Neither Aguero nor Tevez had gambled on it.
Another blocked shot from Tevez - he's hungry to score that lad.
Good battling from Kightly to prevent Clichy getting a chance to cross from the left.
Jarvis runs at Zabaleta but knocks the ball too far to catch. He stumbled anyway.
Good early ball from Kightly and Fletcher is free but it is slightly overhit.
Bassong loses the ball to Tevez, Silva then plays in Aguero and the move ends with Tevez firing right at De Vries.
A rarity - a poor touch from Aguero as he shanks a cross into the crowd.
Another marauding run from Clichy who is caught late by Kightly. The ref plays a brief advantage then pulls play back for the foul.
Aguero is offside as he looks for number two.
Now then Wolves, have you got anything left in the tank?
In keeping with the earlier game, that was a superb goal. Beautifully crafted and expertly finished.
Superb play from Clichy, who nutmegs Jarvis and fires a wonderful ball behind the last defender for Aguero, who controls, gathers himself and slots past De Vries.
Ward goes for a pass then changes his mind at the last second, meaning he touches the ball right to Silva.
Ward's cross troubles Hart for a moment, but it eventually sails over the bar.
Another shot from an angle from Tevez, but this one lacks power and De Vries is right behind it. A touch greedy that.
Fabulous ball from Nasri and a great run from Tevez but De Vries is out smartly to claim the ball in the nick of time.
City's fans are in good voice, mocking their rivals at United.
Now Aguero rifles a low shot wide of the post. Wolves' bright start is rapidly fading as City assert their dominance.
Then Stearman's terrible header back to the keeper is short and Aguero tires an ambitious flick lob when he had time to bring it down.
Foley is spitting with rage after being blocked off the ball by Barry.
Tevez misses his kick then Aguero's shot is blocked, then Barry spins a dreadful shot well, well wide.
That should have been the first goal - a lovely move from City. Zabaleta plays a one-two with Silva and threads Nasri in but from seven yards out he has dragged his shot wide.
And the longer they go without conceding the more their belief will grow.
Wolves are playing well here - causing problems for City.
More pressure from the corner as Stearman boots an overhead kick over the bar after a session of pinball in the area.
Excellent move from Wolves as Jarvis pulls a cross to the edge of the box and Davis forces Hart into a smart save with a powerful shot.
Lescott clears the corner and City break as Aguero gets over the halfway line but he chooses the wrong pass wide to Tevez when Silva was free and the move breaks down.
Kightly does well to break to the byline and win a corner.
Decent start to tge game - Wolves looking bright too. How long will that last I wonder?
Great chance for Aguero as he beats the offside trap - Bassong takes him wide and he flashes a shot past the far post.
De Vries decides to punch the corner clear under no pressure. Curious.
A dangerous looking break from City ends with Nasri fouling Stearman but Mancini's men come again and Tevez wins a corner.
Good work from Jarvis - winning the ball from Zabaleta before delivering a good ball to the near post. Lescott heads clear.
At the other end Bassong has a pop, it takes a nick off Barry and loops agonosingly wide. Corner.
Tevez fires in his firt effort of the afternoon - a vicious dipper that flies over the bar.
For Wolves it is crunch time. If they fail to win today, they will be officially relegated.
A huge day for both clubs today. Manchester City can close within three points of Man Utd with a win, ahead of next week's derby showdown. If they win their remaining four games, barring a big change in goal difference, they will be champions.
Four changes for Wolves: Dorus de Vries makes his first Premier League start in place of the injured Wayne Hennessey. Sebastien Bassong is back from suspension and replaces Christophe Berra, David Edwards is in for Anthony Forde and Matt Jarvis replaces Sylvan Ebanks-Blake.
Just one change for Manchester City from the side that won 6-1 at Norwich, Yaya Toure returns for Nigel de Jong. Carlos Tevez partners Sergio Aguero up front again.
Could this man yet claim a Premier League winners medal?
