2nd Leg: 2 - 3 (Agg)
Inter go through, Barca go out and, although Barca won 1-0 on the night, the 3-1 at the San Siro has sent Jose's men through. Incredible stuff.
Mourinho is pointing at his fans at the top of the Nou Camp. It's been attack against defence and, tonight, defence has won.
Jose Mourinho charges onto the pitch and it's all over. The champions are out! Victor Valdes runs at Jose, but is hauled away..
Alves in, Lucio away and the whistle blows.
Corner for Barcelona. This will be it, the last effort.
Alves crosses high into the air, headed away by Maicon.
Inter now hammering the ball upfield everytime they get it.
Ball to hand almost certainly.. but the goal has not been given. Wow.
Bojan smashes it into the roof of the net, but the ref calls him back when Yaya Toure handballs to slot him through.
GOAL! But no, handball is it?
Maxwell fakes to shoot and slides the ball into the box. Lucio is there again.
Pedro does very well down the right and wins a corner.
Alves mishit finds Bojan in the box. Great control to drop it back to Messi, but Chivu closes the door.
Messi slips it through to Alves, but the defender goes down. Pen? No, Muntari was holding him, but not enough for a spot kick.
Good header away from Lucio and he goes down with what is obviously a fake injury. Up again and ready to repel Barca again though.
Now Messi has a go. He finds some space and hits it straight at the keeper.
Save! Xavi has a shot and Cesar beats it away. Bit of movement on the ball.
Alves trying to pull strings. Searching and probing for an opening.
Maicon does really well to nick it away from Pedro. Mariga is chasing the ball down in an effort to keep Barca moving away from goal.
Eto'o is coming off, and Mariga is coming on. Inter won't attack now, but can they hang on?
Oh wait, you can't, well it's very loud. Now they have some hope! One more needed.
Listen to the noise!
Xavi slots the ball down the left to Pique, who was right on the edge of offside, he's through on goal and turn brilliantly to sell a dummy to Cordoba and Cesar and slot it into an empty net!
GOAL! What a finish from Pique! Barcelona 1-0!
Oh dear. Best chance of the night by a long shot. He really should have done better there.
Oh what a chance! Bojan heads wide from just outside the six-yard box. Messi curls it in and the little man heads wide. Massive miss!
Diego Milito off, Cordoba on. The door is being kept shut.
Messi trying to do everything himself. Runs at Cambiasso, but is crowded out. Hard to run past 11 players alone...
Pique is moving up front to try and get Barca a goal. Is Pep regretting taking Ibra off?
Messi and Pedro combine, but again the ball is blocked. 96,000 in the stadium and you can hear the 6,000 odd Inter fans...
Eto'o plays left-back to get Inter out of trouble. Jeffren gets the ball across the box, but there isn't a single Barca player there. Why on earth not???
Ref, seriously, this is football not netball. I've never seen so many players penalised for jumping.
Pedro cross is blocked and, once again, it goes for a corner. Barca have no height with Ibra though and, AGAIN, it's another free-kick.
Victor Valdes almost playing on his own halfway line. No need for him to be there really.
If I had a pound for everytime Inter have broken up the play from just outside their own box... I'd probably have enough to retire.
Maxwell crosses well but Inter stand firm. There is very little they can do to get anywhere near the goal.
Messi stopped by Cambiasso, he's been very good this game. All over the place and mopping up the ball.
Keita lets fly from 30 yards out and it's really poor again. Barca resorted to shooting from miles out.
Not sure there's been a corner yet without a foul.. what on earth?
4 players in the final third for Inter.. wow.. haven't seen that all game. They surely can't be going for a goal can they?
Inter playing the clock down now. The tricks are coming out.
Messi playing like a midfielder now, chasing the ball and trynig to pull the strings. Actually, he's their best bet to get a goal, so it's going to be tough.
Pique flies in to tackle Eto'o. Very well timed tackle.
Awful from Barca, Alves passes to Toure and he just knocks it out for a throw. ''It's just like watching Sheff Wednesday'', says Dale Johnson.
Sneijder off, and it's Muntari coming on to shore up the midfield.
Pedro chasing everything and tries to get it in. Lucio a defensive rock at the moment and even Xavi is giving the ball away now.
Xavi to Maxwell, but Maicon blocks him again. Jeffren has come on for Busquets by the way.
Jose Mourinho getting a good talking to. Probably about encroachment from his area.
Zlatan off, Bojan on. Odd one that, but he hasn't made an impact.
Messi to Ibra in the box, well held up and he slots it back to the Argentine. Lucio gets his foot in to stab the ball away just in the nick of time.
Pedro now has a hopeful effort from outside the box. Barca are resorting to long range. Bojan looks like he may come on.
Julio Cesar gets a warning for wasting time. He has to be careful as he's been booked already.
Alves put the ball across when he found some space and Maicon knocks it behind. Goal kick is given though.. this ref is not having a good game.
It's all just being played in front of the Inter defence. In truth, the Italians are looking fairly comfortable.
Yaya Toure once again has a go from miles out. Very poor. Frustration if anything.
Ibra crowded out, but manages to get the ball back. Down the left and Maxwell wastes the cross.
Pedro just fails to slot a through ball to Ibra, who would have had a free run on goal.
Keita the furthest forward again and wins a corner. He looks most likely to take a chance if one comes.
Ibra is pushed to the floor in the box by Lucio. Ref waves him away though. No pen.
Keita again is the man charging forward from midfield, but he's penalised for a foul on Lucio.
Inter get a few men forward, but it doesn't last long. Barcelona back in control. Ibra now tries to flick it on with his heel, but misses out.
Moan from the crowd as Pedro wastes possession. Barca are looking a bit under the weather and Ibrahimovic is doing very little in the lone role up front.
Maicon goes down and buys a foul from the ref. He's been tricked again.
Pedro floats it in to the box, but Cesar comes and claims. Barcelona will need more than that.
Xavi chips it in again to Keita and Maicon did well to follow his run.
Alves just caught offside. He'll be pushing forward with reckless abandon.
Sneijder almost dispossesses Pique. Alves and Maxwekk bombing on from full-back.
Early stages and it's more of the same, Barca attacking and Inter defending.
Inter free-kick and Chivu has a go from about 55 yards. Miles wide.
Jose maybe playing some mind games there.. but the second half kicks off.
Maxwell will come on for Milito and will play left-back. Inter taking their sweet time to come back out.
So Inter, down to 10 men, are still in the lead. They have defended, Barcelona have attacked, but Inter have been solid and have restricted the Spanish side to only one really good chance. More in 15...
Messi finds Toure down the right, but he can't cross and it flies over the bar. Really poor.
Wow, worst shot I think I've ever seen. Yaya Toure shoots from 40 yards and it goes out for a throw.
Final few moments of the half. 2 mins left.
Ibrahimovic smashes the free-kick, but it drifts wide. Great hit.
He got a bit of the ball, but Messi went flying. Inter were furious that Barca didn't put the ball out.
Sneijder stays down, but Messi runs at the defence. Chivu hacks him down and gets booked.
Pique does brilliantly with Sneijder down at the other end.
Xavi almost finds space, but Cambiasso evenly gets hit foot on the pass. Messi tries to run through the defence again, but it's proving hard.
Messi climbs high to head over Chivu, but is blown up for a foul. Not a foul, but the ref gives it.
Messi whips a free-kick in, but once again it is a foul and the ref is keen to blow up at every opportunity when the ball is in the air.
Xavi chips it over to Alves, who handballs and then brings it down. Ibra has the shot, but it's blocked by Samuel. Inter would have been furious.
Inter offering nothing by the way of a counter attack. Sneijder wastes a long pass to Milito, but there was nothing on anyway.
Keita goes down in the box far too easy when the cross comes in. Maicon was the man marking him, but that was never a penalty.
Great triangles of passing from Barca. Pedro releases Keita who bursts down the right into the box. Lucio does well to win a goal kick from that.
Julio Cesar booked for wasting time now. It's started already.
Ibra breaks and what a lazy pass that was to Xavi. Sneijder cut it out so easy. Really poor when Barca could have had a good chance.
That was a potentially game saving.. erm.. save.
So close! What a wonderful save from Julio Cesar. Messi took a yard of space, curled it, and the keeper at full stretch tipped it around the post.
Handball shout by the crowd, but Lucio used his chest to stop Pedro's cross.
Damage limitation for Inter until half-time methinks. Barca are pressing, but Julio Cesar still hasn't made a save.
It's all Barca, still. Chivu has come inside to a DM role and Eto'o is playing wide left.
Right, Inter, with 10 men, now have an uphill struggle. Motta would have been lucky to stay on the pitch anyway to be honest, he'd already been booked.
After all that, Jose is going crazy on the touchline. It's taking a while to sort out.
It didn't look much, Busquets made quite a meal of it, but it was a hand off to the face.
Oh dear. There's been a flare up on the touchline. Motta isn't going quietly.
RED CARD! Inter down to 10. Motta thrust a hand into Busquets' face.
Eto'o breaks well and Pedro is cautioned for bringing him down.
Ibra playing as a right winger for some reason. He wasn't in the box when he was needed.
Barca defended the corner in numbers.. not quite sure why. They manage to clear the ball though and build another attack.
Inter find some space, Milito first down the left, then it's squared to Sneijder who finds Eto'o in acres on the right. Gab Milito comes across though and does well.
Barca's possession stats are impressive. Something nearly 90%, but they're not breaking through.
Alves again gets the ball across, it's found Pedro running onto it at the back of the area.. first time on the volley... just wide.
Good cross from Alves, Ibra finds room and cushions a header back across the box. Xavi is there, but it doesn't come down and Inter get bodies in the way.
Almost a neat pass from Messi to Pedro, but it is closed down by Cambiasso.. just.
Diego Milito all alone on the right near the corner flag.. is he playing for time? There's no-one else around him, so perhaps.
Brilliant turn from Xavi got him away from Sneijder for once, but he chose to pass to Messi instead of shoot. He should have shot.
Handball from Ibra. Ball was chipped in and he controlled it with his arm.
Pedro and Xavi combine and Lucio does well after Chivu fails to deal with a through ball. Inter are back in numbers though and Barca are struggling to break through.
First we've seen in an attacking capacity from Inter. Chivu is tracking Alves and making sure the right side of Barca's attack is closed.
Barca asleep down the left and Chivu gets a cross-shot in. Valdes claims with ease though.
Lots of nice passing from Barca, but nothing really penetrating.
A giant clearance and nobody really chases it from Inter. They are sit deep and the pattern of the game is set.
Ibra crowded out by four players. Inter are sitting so deep.
Xavi finds Messi with some space and he tries to curl one in, but scuffs the shot low and it hits Samuel.
This is taking a while to sort out. The flow of the game has gone as Maicon struggles.
Maicon's shoulder looks hurt, but the Barca crowd are not being sympathetic.
Ref is having a word with Messi after he tripped Maicon into the ad hoardings.
Now a chance to deliver into the box. Messi does it, but there's pushing in the box and it's an Inter free-kick. Ibra has a giant rip on his shirt, so perhaps it should have been a pen?
Motta goes into the book for a tackle on Alves. Former Barcelona man of course...
Sneijder looks like he's man marking Xavi.. decent plan from Jose as he's the one that gives Messi the ball.
Messi having his heels snapped by Motta this time. Barca continue their assualt..
Cambiasso comes across and takes Messi down. The first of many no doubt.
Milito.. Diego by the way.. is caught offside. He'll want to run against his brother on the right side of Inter's attack.
Inter haven't had a kick yet. Ibra crosses to Pedro, who squares to Messi and Keita is there in the box. He can't turn and the danger is snuffed out.
Pedro fancies himself against Maicon and now Messi gets to run at the defence. Three converge and stop him, as Ibra has a blocked shot.
Barca now controlling the ball. Usual passing stuff, just popping it across the back and holding on to it.
Pedro cuts inside Maicon and hammers a shot across the face of goal. That was a close one.
Milito is at left-back for Barcelona, while Chivu is wide left for Inter. Interesting.
Inter get a free-kick early on, but it comes to nothing.
Hang on, they're both playing 4-4-3. Chivu is playing attacking and Yaya Toure is playing at the back for Barca. All change!
Inter are playing three at the back as well! Incredible stuff.
The Nou Camp is packed. 96,000 are there and it's very loud!
So will Jose park the bus? Or we set to see some Italian attacking flair? One goal for Inter and everything is almost over for the Spanish side.
An injury in warmup? Or is that Jose playing a trick and adjusting to Barca's lineup?
Hang on, Jose has upset the applecart. Pandev is out and Chivu is in!
Of course it's a big night for Samuel Eto'o and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.. will one of them be responsible for dumping their old side out of the Champions League?
For Inter, Sneijder starts.. mind games from Jose Mourinho about his 'injury' while Lucio and Samuel are reunited at the back.
Toure, Pique and Milito at the back, with a four-man midfield. Barcelona need goals as they are 3-1 down from the first leg and that looks like a good formation to get them.
Hi all, welcome to the game and it's an attacking formation from Barca 3-4-3.
José Manuel Pinto
