Just as an aside, AaB's interim manager Allan Kuhn ends his 12 match reign unbeaten and he takes a deserved bow at Old Trafford.
With Villarreal losing at Cetlic it means United finish top of the group and should avoid most of the big boys in the draw for the next round.
The final whistle blows and it ends 2-2 at Old Trafford.
This game is coming to a scrappy end now.
Scholes is giving a masterclass in midfield, with scooped passes, sweeping cross-field passes and little one-twos.
Jakobsen takes the resulting freekick and smashes it well wide. Much to the displeasure of his team-mates who have come up from the back.
Caca drives at Ferdinand. The defender tugs Caca's shirt and he wins a freekick ... it was all the striker could do as he had no support.
Evans makes a crunching but fair tackle on Caca, who stays down and waits for a whistle that never comes.
AaB players are out on their feet now but they are still holding on for a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford.
Tevez controls the ball with a great first touch but his next one forces him wide of the goal and he shoots into the sidenetting.
Nani backs into his defender as the ball ricochets around the box and he goes down wanting a penalty - it isn't one.
Rafael gets the ball out wide and then inexplicably passes the ball straight to Augustinusse.
Nani is still putting a lot of energy into his game despite it being late in the game. He is always hounding AaB players as they try to clear the ball.
Ferdinand has the captain's armband now the Neville has gone off.
Risgard breaks for AaB. Caca is ahead of him but the midfielder can't deliver the correct pass and the chance goes begging.
United follow suit and make their final change. Rafael replaces Neville ... the United veteran best get used to that.
AaB make their final change. Pedersen goes off and is replaced by Sorensen.
Rooney, to Tevez, to Nani, who spins on the edge of the box and then shoots high wide and handsome.
AaB make another substitution. Curth, who has had a great game, is replaced by Caca.
I mentioned Rooney's rash challenge earlier, well the ref has had a word with him and told the striker to calm down.
Rooney delivers a cross. Olfers gets his head to the ball but it loops over his keeper and comes back off the bar. Nearly an own goal.
Gary Neville ghosts in at the far post, controls a pass from Rooney but then blasts his shot straight at the advancing Zaza.
Nani controls a cross-field pass from Anderson on his chest and then smashes a cross into the box. Park flings himself at the ball but can't quite make contact.
Rooney gets a bit excited and makes a rash challenge. The ref lets it go and then blows for another foul a moment later that was never a foul.
Scrappy midfield battle at the moment.
Anderson whips in a cross. Jakobsen attempts to clear at the near post an nearly slices the ball into his own net.
Due it was that went off.
AaB make a change. On comes Kristensen, a striker or midfielder, for ... erm I'll tell you that in a minute.
Tevez gets the ball with the AaB defence backing off. He plays a through-pass for Scholes, who is tackled by Olfers as he is about to shoot.
Tevez beats Jakobsen on the right of the box but his floated cross drops onto the roof of the net as Rooney waits at the back post.
It's one way traffic again now as Tevez has his umpteenth shot blocked by the body of an AaB defender.
Park twists and turns under pressure from three players and keeps possession as he gets cheered by the crowd.
Elsewhere, Arsenal are losing 2-0 at Porto and would finish second in their group.
Rooney switches play to the right. Park heads Rooney's pass into the box but no team-mate has made a run into the area.
Tevez is caught offside. He disagrees and kicks the ball into the hordings. He escapes without a booking.
United have started strongly this half ... but they did that in the first half.
Tevez is left in a heap following a Curth challenge. Nani can deliver another dangerous cross from this freekick.
Anderson plays a lovely weighted through-pass for Rooney, who bursts through the Aab defence and toe pokes a shot past Zaza. GOAL!!!
Nani whips in a perfect cross. Tevez leaps to head it and ends up doing some kind of Frosby flop in mid air.
Some slick play from United ... until Neville gets the ball and then it all goes wrong.
Jakobsen is lying in a heap in his own penalty box after Rooney caught him with a stray boot.
With Celtic now beating Villarreal 2-0 United could still finish top of the group with a defeat but they won't want to finish to group stage like this.
Paul Scholes replaces Ryan Giggs and Park comes on for Gibson to keep some width for United.
United get the second-half underway and the manager has made a few changes.
Sir Alex Ferguson will have some harsh words for his team in the dressing room.
What a great header from Churt. He gives his team a 2-1 lead seconds before the whistle blows for half-time.
Due chips a lofted pass into the United area and Churt arrives to add the finishing touch with a great header back across Kuszczak. GOAL!!!
Tevez backheels the ball into the box for O'Shea, whose shot beats the keeper but is cleared by one of three AaB defenders back on the line.
...Jakobsen bends his shot past the wall and Kuszczak makes an easy save. Although he makes it look good for the cameras.
Saganowski draws a foul from Ferdinand on the edge of the box. This could be a great chance for AaB...
The Red Devils have lost their high-tempo game and AaB are playing the better football now.
O'Shea crosses from the left but Olfers cuts out the pass at the near post. That is United's first attack for a few minutes.
Aab are the team asking the questions now... not very difficult questions admittedly, but they are having pot shots at goal from long-range, Olfers with the latest one.
Neville looks a bit lost when he gets the ball and gives it away cheaply. It is sad to see such a great player dropping his standard so far.
Curth turns ahead of the United defence and shoots. Kuszczak makes an easy save.
AaB have a new belief and are passing the ball around well ... even playing it out of defence with the odd trick.
for all of United's possession both side have only had one shot on target and both have scored. 1-1 and game on.
Jakobsen has scored against the team he supports. He owes a big thanks to Nani for giving away that pointless foul.
...Augustinussen delivers a great cross and Jakobsen flicks the ball off the back of his head and inside the far post. GOAL!!!
Nani concedes a needless foul and AaB have a great chance to punt the ball into the United area...
Augustinussen is trying to create something from midfield for Aab but everytime he passes the ball forward a United defender wins the ball with a tigerish tackle.
Due attacks down the right flank but panics a bit and just smashes a pass across the other side of the pitch to nobody in particular.
United mount another attack. Nani races onto a through-pass but can only poke his shot into the sidenetting.
Aab finally get the ball but can't clear their lines and Pedersen can only concede a throw.
United happy to keep possession and tease Aab.
Aab can't get near the ball now.
Rooney spins on the touchline and clips a lofted pass into the box for Tevez, who gets his head to the ball but sends his effort wide.

Anderson attempts to play a defence splitting pass from his own half ... and fails.

In the group's other game Celtic are beating Villarreal 1-0. Great news for United.
Rooney chases a long-ball from midfield but Zaza is quickly off his line once again and clears the danger.
Saganowski leaves Evans on his rump and charges towards goal. He shoots from distance and his effort drifts wide of the far post.

Zaza races off his line to claim the ball of the feet of Nani as the winger looks to shoot.
Due does Neville a kipper but strikes his cross right into the chest Ferdinand. A good attack though from Aab.
Saganowski takes a tumble in the box under a challenge from O'Shea but the ref waves play on. No penalty.
United look like they are enjoying themselves tonight. All they must do is match what Villarreal do at Celtic to win the group.
Nani crosses for Rooney at the near post. The Unied striker wins a corner, from which Evans shoots high and wide.
Augustinussen lumps a hopeful ball into the box but Kusczak claims it with ease.
Darren Gibson, who is getting some rare playing time in the United defence, makes a misplaced pass as the nerves are as yet unsettled.
Rooney is on the attack. He cuts the ball back to the edge of the box for Tevez, who shoots wide. Tevez should have scored his second goal there.
Well Tevez can't get a game in the Premier League but the last time he played in a cup competition, the Carling Cup, he scored four goals... can he do it again?
And it is a good job as Giggs flicks the ball over the Aab defence, Tevez races onto it and lashes the ball into the bottom corner. GOAL!!
Aab have already qualified for the UEFA Cup so this is something of a free game for them - no pressure just the chance to enjoy their football.
Aab get the game underway, kicking from right to left, but it is United who mount the first attack; but Rooney's cross-shot is saved by Zaza.
