Stamford Bridge, England
Referee: Peter Frodjfeldt
There we are. All done and dusted. Chelsea go through, but second in the group so they may get another big side in the next stage. Apart from a little wobble after the equaliser, they were good value for it. Until next time.
I did elaborate on the corner but our gamecast tool decided to delete it. I mean the software, not an actual person who we refer to as the gamecast tool.
Muresan smashes one over the bar after Deco had brought down Alcantara.
Cluj win a corner. Four minutes added on time.
Terry prevents Culio from getting into the box with the ball, but seems he was offside anyway.
Bridge's first involvement is to fizz in a delicious cross to the near post which Drogba nearly connects with. Corner.
Mikel is off and Wayne Bridge comes on.
Ballack is the latest to force Claro into a save before Mikel's cross has the keeper charging out, Bosingwa rounds him but can only find Cadu with his cross.
My soccernet colleague Dale is elated as Leon Clarke gives Sheffield Wednesday the lead against QPR. We all can surely feel his joy.
Belletti gives into the crowd's demands for a shot by forcing Claro into a low save.
Mikel gets a booking for a reckless challenge. Could easily have been a red.
And Roma now lead Bordeaux 2-0. Game, well and truly, over.
David Ngog scores to make it PSV 1-3 Liverpool.
Drogba shows he can execute a raking pass too by picking out Bosingwa. He then fires a left shot well over the bar.
I wonder if Scolari will start with Anelka AND Drogba up front when the Ivorian completes his ban? They certainly need the firepower at home don't they?
Belletti gets a booking for a late lunge on Pereira. Warranted too.
Belletti on for Joe Cole.
Makes it all the more annoying that Drogba's petulance has cost him a three-match Premier League ban eh?
In truth, a lovely goal. A super dink from Mikel releases Joe Cole, he chips in for Drogba to take and then finish in two sublime touches.
Two poor crosses come in from Deco and then Bosingwa. Then Ballack dinks into the box looking for Drogba and Claro is out sharply.
Albert Riera has scored a beauty to give Liverpool the lead at PSV.
The crowd and the players clearly know Roma are leading and its far too pedestrian all of a sudden.
Everyone in a blue shirt seems intent on passing to Drogba, despite there being many better options available.
Drogba gets in behind and fires a shot off Claro but he was offside.
Here's the change: Kalou comes off and Didier Drogba is on. Hands in pockets at all times now fella.
Kalou spreads the ball wide for Bosingwa but the Portuguese passes the ball straight into the arms of Claro.
Pereira limps off. No idea why.
Roma have taken the lead. Lucky, lucky Chelsea.
Emmanuel Kone is coming on for Dubarbier. No relation to the goalscorer I am told.
So, we're back where we started. Still all square in Rome but if Bordeaux were to edge in front then Chelsea would be dead and buried if they can't find a winner.
Joe Cole has just missed a great chance to restore the lead. A Cole's ball over the top found him but Claro gets a vital touch to divert it wide of the post.
Oh dear Chelsea, oh dear.
Great move from Cluj, Culio and Panin swapping a superb one-two and Kone meeting the latter's cross to nod into the top corner. Superb goal!
Its all a bit scrappy in the box as Mikel finds Anelka then Cadu gets in. As Chelsea build again Deco finds Anelka but Claro is out to smother his shot.
Then Chelsea sweep downfield and Joe Cole nearly gets into the area. In the end he does well to get a shot away but its right at Claro.
Culio wrestles A Cole to the deck and swings in a cross which Alex had to meet or else Kone had a free header six-yards out.
A Cole gets chopped down but the ref waves play on. Ironic considering the goal came from a non-existent free-kick that he'd awarded.
Drogba warms up, to much applause from the home fans.
You probably know already but Ryan Babel equalised for Liverpoo, at PSV on the stroke of half time.
What joy awaits us in the second half then I wonder? CLuj battling to get level? Chelsea sitting back?
We're off again...
Pereira is at it again - having a go from distance and hitting the corner flag.
Two minutes added. I think we all need a break.
At the other end Bosingwa slides in a majestic cross and Panin does well to clear with Kalou breathing down his neck.
Another great chance for Cluj! Trica gets round the back then Culio, inexplicably, seems to think he's got time to take a touch rather than hit it first time, and Terry bundles him out of it.
Culio's free-kick at the other end is too strong. And, as easy as one two three, Chelsea now top their group.
Relief sweeps around the Bridge.
Funny goal that. First of all Ballack shamelessly dived for the free-kick, then when it came in two Cluj players took out John Terry but the ball fell to Kalou and he smashed home from six yards out.
Kalou scores! Chelsea lead!
Its Panin again. He's everywhere that lad. Thinks he's a film star.
Drama here as a Cluj player is stricken while Chelsea pile onto the attack. Bit of argy bargy follows. Pointless really.
And, big goal in non-league football, Elliot Benyan has pulled Torquay level at Eastbourne. Huuuge. Yes, I'm bored. You guessed.
PSV are one up against Liverpool. Lazovic scores it.
Joe Cole wastes a decent chance to feed Kalou in the area. His ball was poor.
Kalou cuts in and shoots and Cadu's block takes the ball looping over the bar.
As things stand Chelsea are through, but one goal from Bordeaux in Roma changes everything. If it happens.
Come on game, give us a goal.
Bit brighter from Chelsea, Deco crosses and Pereira heads behind. Nothing comes from the corner.
Kone has a go when he should have crossed. Poor choice that.
The skipper, JT, decides to go on the rampage but Deco can't find his captain's noggin in the area.
Ballack's effort from distance is pathetic. Oh dear.
First real opening for Chelsea that. CLuj have had the best opening of the game so far.
Decent move from Chelsea. A Cole to Ballack down the left, his cross finds J Cole who half volleys a shot wide.
Culio battles well with Ballack and Bosingwa to win a free-kick. The roaming winger is bang up for this.
Panin is down. He got an elbow in the face from Kalou. Nice.
Claro looking less than Claro after flapping at Boswinga's cross then falling over. Muresan clears for a corner with his keeper prostrate.
Muresan dreams he's Pele for a minute by trying to hit a cross on the volley from 30 yards out. It went out for a throw-in.
Chelsea know they're in a game here. Cluj giving as good as they are getting at the minute.
Cluj growing in stature here .... interesting times...
Great chance for Cluj! Mikel clears off the line after Culio hoodwinks Bosingwa and Alcantara heads his cross towards goal!
Cluj win a corner after Terry gets a flick on a Culio cross.
Kalou again does his headless chicken routine in the box but this time finds Anelka whose shot is blocked. Another free-kick given away by Panin.
Dubarbier scampers down the left amid whoops and cheers from the Cluj contingent. His cross looks dangerous for a minute, but then Mikel tidies up and it looks less so.
Deco swings it in, Alex has a free header at the back post but nods it into the ground and over the bar.
Oanin hacks down Ashley Cole then screams to the heavens when the ref blows for a foul. Promising position for Chelsea...
Deco swings in a cross and Nuno Claro, who is making his European debut, comes out to claim well.
Birght start from Cluj. They certainly don't look scared. Why would they? Nowt to lose have they?
Kalou looks to run into the box and cause havoc. Instead, he causes himself to lose possession.
Alvaro Pereira has a shot from distance and Cech looks far from comfortable as he parries it away. Terry was there to tidy up.
Cole now commits a foul on Culio. He was the fella who scored both Cluj goals in their famous win in Roma you know.
Culio runs at Ashely Cole, who manages to slide in and claim a goal-kick in the process.
Wonderful jinking run from Joe Cole who beats three players before slightly overhitting his ball in the vague direction of Anelka.
Mikel has a punt from 35 yards after a short free-kick. It was woeful.
Ballack dinks one over the top but Anelka had strayed offside.
Big Phil has just been on saying he was joking about going back to Brazil if they lose to Cluj. He blamed it on his poor English. Yes, my reaction was exactly the same: "Oh, that old chestnut."
So, a full-strength Chelsea, with Anelka preferred to Drogba up front. Big Phil is taking no chances by the looks of it. Cluj will be fired up to after Scolari said he'll retire to Brazil if he loses - Juan Culio the most vocal after hearing the comments.
CFR Cluj: Nuno Claro, Pereira, Hugo Alcantara, Cadu,
Panin, Muresan, Dani, Culio, Trica, Dubarbier and Yssouf Kone. Subs from: Hirschfeld, Peralta, Prette, Deac, De Souza, Emmanuel Kone and Ruiz.
Chelsea: Cech, Ashley Cole, Terry, Alex, Bosingwa, Kalou, Deco, Mikel, Ballack, Joe Cole and Anelka. Subs from: Cudicini, Ivanovic, Drogba, Bridge, Ferreira, Belletti and Stoch.
The scenario is far too complicated to summarise so let's say this. If Chelsea win, which they really should, they'll go through. If they draw and Bordeaux draw at Roma, they will still go through. If Bordeaux better the Chelsea result, then it gets dicey. Clear as mud? Good.
Unusual position for Chelsea this, namely having to beat one of the competitions minnows on the final matchday of the group stage in order to progress to the knockout stage. Imagine the hullabaloo if they go out.
Join us at 1945 BST to see if Cluj can destroy Chelsea's Champions League ambitions.
