Vasil Levski National Stadium
And a golden night for Drogba as Shevchenko fails to score. That will be the downside on a pleasing night for Chelsea.
And the whistle goes. Job done for Chelsea. Barca await but there are six points in the bag.
A minute to go. And a couple of niggly fouls finish us all but off. Chelsea choose to pass the ball around the back.
Lampard clears his lines. Both teams now waiting for the end.
Three minutes of time added on...
The fans are back in voice. The 18-year-old took it well and Levski have deserved their goal for all that effort.
And Levski get their reward for their effort. Sub Ognyanov bursts through and hits it with his right foot past Cech to score Levski's first ever Champions League goal.
Terry penalised for a foul. Jovov plays the ball in. The Bulgarians' move breaks down though. Great defending from Terry all night. He and Cech have kept the Bulgars at bay.
Liverpool hanging on at Anfield as Galatasaray push for an equaliser.
Robben has a golden chance. He bursts out wide but goes for glory. SWP was waiting but the Dutchman is too greedy and it's the side-netting that is ruffled.
A Levski corner comes out to Ivanov and the striker, who one must wonder why he wasn't starting, hits a fine shot. Cech saves well again.
And he is. He looks tired. And is wearing the scars of that early tangle with Milanov.
Shaun Wright-Phillips is due on. Shevchenko will be without a goal in over a month if he's the man to be subbed.
Ballack's flick through can't find the frustrated Shevchenko.
Nice chestdown from Koprivarov nearly brought a goal chance but Carvalho came across to clear the danger.
Off goes Borimirov. Koprivarov on in place of the clearly tired veteran.
Kalou out wide to Shevchenko. He wins a corner. Terry got up there but Petkov collected. Terry has not given up on more goals it seems.
Mourinho off the bench to make sure his player wake up. Angelov gets a sniff of a chance before Bridge steps in.
Ferreira slips to let in Jovov. Ivanov gets stopped in his tracks as Carvalho comes across.
And does well again to make a good save from Ivanov. Cech busy as the game looks to be over. John Terry informs his team-mates to keep it over.
Levski get in an attack. Cech makes three saves in succession from Jovov and then escapes a penalty claim. Though the claim was clearly a dive. Cech did well.
A game that's slipping away from the Bulgarians is now atmosphereless. No real quality in this half after some flashes in the first.
Off goes Drogba for Robben. Job done.
Kalou slides in to Shevchenko. But his shot is smashed over. Still not happening for him.
Now Drogba could do with laying on a goal for Shevchenko to complete a perfect night for the Blues.
Now Drogba gets his hat-trick. By means of a deflection off a Lampard shot. He shins it past the keeper and Chelsea are home and dry. 3-0!
Dimitar Telkiyski off for star man Ivanov. Levski need a goal.
Essien's head stops an attack. He didn't know much about it.
Borimirov tiring. The Sofians are now looking somewhat listless as their fate becomes ever so obvious.
While Chelsea sit pretty. It looks interesting at Anfield. Galatasaray are back to 3-2.
Shevchenko handballs. Says the ref. The man from the Ukraine is unhappy. His body language is poor. Perhaps Mikel was done a disservice. He's gone off for Kalou.
Ballack so calm in playing out of trouble. Able to play in defence and attack he's been quietly impressive tonight.
He limps around but will be OK.
A foul on Mikel. The youngster seems to enjoy the theatrics somewhat. Not a nice thing to see.
Off go Levski in search of goal. Bardon, a rare Frenchman in Bulgaria, has looked good down the left.
Drogba looking up for this one. And he fancies a hat-trick. In the other match Werder Bremen lead Barcelona. A win here would be a foothold in Round 2.
Three points looking oh so likely. Essien on the burst. Drogba tried to play in Ballack.
Mikel goes down injured. And is booked for his troubles. For dissent it seems.
2-0 and Chelsea are sitting pretty.
Drogba, spins to find space and then shoots on goal. It was too powerful for keeper Petkov and dribbles over the line, away from a despairing defender.
Good tackle by Carvalho. Shevchenko goes round the back but his cross drifts away from Drogba and Ballack.
Drogba offside. He disputes it but was bang to rights.
Crouch has made it three for Liverpool at Anfield.
Bardon is sly with a backheel. However the Chelsea defence looks panicky after Cech slips. But in steps Terry to sweep up.
Lampard caught in possession. But Terry calms things down at the back. A calm pace is what Chelsea want.
The crowd nowhere near as loud as they were at the beginning of the preceding half. Borimirov slips but is bailed out by a team-mate as Chelsea's striker looked to pounce.
We're off again in Sofia. Chelsea will fancy another while keeping it tight at the back.
Half-time it is. And Chelsea have their lead and while the Bulgarians have shown signs of quality that superiority that Chelsea possess has told.
Ball drifts out as the first half ebbs away.
The sting has been taken out of the Bulgarians. Chelsea just need to be watchful of the skills of Telkiyski and Borimirov.
Dimitar Telkiyski gets in quite a good cross. Carvalho knocks clear and Chelsea deal with the corner.
Chelsea looking for more and looking more than capable of getting them.
Ballack down on the by-line. Superb ball. Shevchenko's header is poor and misdirected.
Bridge misses a header. Great cross into Jovov and he directs on goal for a decent effort that was drifting wide of the goal.
Levski are facing an imminent exit if they don't do something. And the UEFA Cup is still a dream. Borimirov does his best but nice work from Ferreira keeps them at bay.
It had been coming. And Chelsea had been pushing harder. Mikel made an impact there. And Drogba continued his recent glut of form.
Lampard goes for the strike. Blocked. Mikel lashes it. Great save but Drogba scores on the rebound. 1-0 to Chelsea!
Shevchenko miscontrols. And receives the ball in his face from a defensive clearance. Already covered in blood, he doesn't look happy about it all.
Couple of good chances for Chelsea here but no goals as yet for the English champions.
Lampard wins a corner. Ball is headed back to Mikel on the wing. Smashes it over the bar from a wide angle.
Bardon pings in a cross. Cech comes out to claim. With ease.
Mikel wasteful. But gets it back through Lampard's industry. Petrov does well to muscle in.
Borimirov drills in a sweeping ball. Cech is forced to knock behind. Good attempt. Corner is cleared easily by Chelsea's dominant defence.
Essien fouls Bardon. There'll be a chance to launch a free-kick for Levski.
Drogba still limping. Chelsea sweeping all before them in midfield but then an attack down the flanks is mounted.
Drogba limps off and will be OK. Mikel wins few friends by lashing the ball off for a throw-in that will advantage Chelsea.
Drogba tries to turn and shoot. And goes down as a boot swings into his leg. He looks in pain. But then again; he often does.
It's cleared and the Bulgarians break at pace. Bridge comes across to stop Borimirov who looked slow. But we'll let him off for his age - he's 36.
Ballack is fouled. Time to launch a free-kick for the likes of Drogba and Terry.
Off go Levski. But Essien is doing the Makelele job very well. Milanov at the other end is strong in stopping an attack.
Ballack launches a truly wonderful shot from 30 yards out. Great save forces it on to the post. And no Chelsea player can capitalise. That's twice the woodwork has been hit.
Bardon gets down the wing. Great cross. But Terry gets in ahead of two waiting strikers.
Ballack wastes a chance to play in the strikers. The midfield combination does look very narrow.
Liverpool two up over Galatasaray.
Keeper goes on safari and there's a pile-up as he makes a muffed punch attempt. Foul given for little obvious reason and Levski breathe easy.
Mikel's shot hit the bar it seems. He had the whole goal to aim at but missed. Corner was wasted and Chelsea have one of their own.
Levski try to calm things after that chance. And win a corner when Bridge tackles Richard Eromoigbe.
Mikel goes close. A nice opening for the Nigerian. He had plenty of time but his finish is weak.
Chelsea having trouble keeping the ball under control in trying to mount an attack while Shevchenko is not on the pitch. Lampard's touch is poor as Levski clear.
Shevchenko is bleeding after a clash with Milanov. It looked a deliberate elbow. The ref missed that one.
Drogba ran out for a goal-kick in the far corner.
Terry was alert as another ball to Jovov nearly found the striker.
Mikel goes down under a tackle from a man who looked twice his size.
Drogba's slipped ball finds Shevchenko offside.
A nice cross finds Jovov lurking but unable to get direction on the ball. Levski are not afraid; they've shown that already.
At Anfield, Liverpool have the lead.
Borimirov tries to win a free-kick. Nothing doing and Chelsea get it away. Good refereeing.
Lampard finds space and launches a bomb. It flies over. A decent effort. Is he back in his stride after his recent worries?
Telkiyski bursts down the right but fires over and wide.
Mikel tackles and Angelov makes a meal of it. The ref realises it's little more than a foul and Mikel escapes a card.
But Levski get their feet on it. Borimirov the USA 94 tries to pull some strings. Calls for a foul by Bridge but Chelsea escape with it.
Ballack's cross headed away. Chelsea dominating in possession.
Essien and Ballack win the ball in midfield. Bulgarian boos ring out. A foul on Shevchenko. Free-kick pumped in but Shevchenko is beaten to the ball by keeper Petkov.
Carvalho again clears. Shevchenko has a knock to his head. And Levski win a throw. Their fans are rabid in support. Despite Chelsea getting the ball clear with ease.
Levski take the kick-off. And get an early attack underway. Carvalho steps in to head back to Cech.
And we have a French referee in Laurent Duhamel.

Mikel John Obi or John Obi Mikel if you like makes his first start. Out goes Claude Makelele to the bench. Robben and Ashley Cole join him. In come Wayne Bridge and John Terry, whose back injury has recovered.
Should Chelsea get their expected win here then they shall have a foot in the next round. And with a double-header with Barcelona to come they could do with the three points.
