Security boost for Paris Saint-Germain vs. Monaco Coupe de France tie

Paris police have said they will increase security for Wednesday's Coupe de France semifinal between Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco at the Parc des Princes.

Police have said "special surveillance" will be put in place for the game, with fans arriving both on foot and by road being searched.

Extra stewards will also be employed and will use metal detectors in an attempt to ensure that no flares or firecrackers are smuggled into the stadium.

Tensions are high following the violence that led to Bastia's home game with Lyon being abandoned earlier this month.

Saint-Etienne's Ligue 1 game with Rennes last weekend -- which was being played behind closed doors -- was temporarily halted when around 200 home fans burst into the stadium.
