Premier Showdown - Dec 12-13

December 13, 2009

Tommy returned to winning ways last weekend in fine style and will look to put more pressure on our leader, Dale Johnson, with a bumper five rounds of Showdown still to be played before we enter 2010. He could be right up there!

There's been little to cheer about, of course, for the Rest of the World team. This weekend, the responsibility for success falls into the capable hands of Dustin Hughes.

"I'm a senior in high school, age 17," Dustin tells ESPN Soccernet. "My team is Chelsea! I love my Blues. During classes where I'm in the computer lab, I'm always on ESPN Soccernet checking tables, scores, and the latest headlines."

A student of computers and a student of the beautiful game. Dustin is from Wenatchee, Washington.

Let's predict away.

Soccernet's Premier League Editor, Dale Johnson, and ESPNsoccernet Press Pass pundit Tommy Smyth take up the test.

They, along with the challenger, cast their eyes over weekend's top flight fixtures in England and predict how they think each game will turn out.

Points are then awarded as follows:
• Three points for a correct result and scoreline
• One point for a correct result

After the weekend's scores are in and the result has been worked out, the winning pundit receives three points for their season's total. Should the challenger win, the total is added to the 'Rest of the World's' tally. In the case of a draw, the points are shared between those level on points.
