Premier Showdown - May 16-18

May 18, 2009

So, it's all over for another year. Dale Johnson was finally crowned as champion last week when the ROTW failed to keep the heat on. But we're not stopping yet! We'll complete the season with the final two rounds.

Joining us for the penultimate weekend is Austin Oviosa who comes from Lagos in Nigeria.

He tells us: "I am an Engineer and I am a fan of Manchester United. I started supporting this club during the era of Eric Cantona, Mark Hughes and Steve Bruce.

"I love United because they the only club that breaks records so watch out, the jinx of the Champions League never won twice in a row will be broken by Man United."

It's time to play...

Soccernet's Premier League Editor, Dale Johnson, and ESPNsoccernet Press Pass pundit Tommy Smyth take up the test.

They, along with the challenger, cast their eyes over weekend's top flight fixtures in England and predict how they think each game will turn out.

Points are then awarded as follows:
• Three points for a correct result and scoreline
• One point for a correct result

After the weekend's scores are in and the result has been worked out, the winning pundit receives three points for their season's total. Should the challenger win, the total is added to the 'Rest of the World's' tally. In the case of a draw, the points are shared between those level on points.

But for that late Pompey goal, Austin would have had ultimate glory this season in setting a new record score. As it is, he has to settle for winning the round.
